From what I gather the Russian men are in total support of what their country is doing and the number of Russian men voluntarily joining the military proves that, whereas Ukrainian males from teenagers to men as old as 70+ and anyone with mental illnesses or disabilities are being 'press ganged' off the streets of Ukraine and forced to fight on the front line, ill-equipped and with only the very minimum of training being given to them, are being thrown into the 'meat grinder'. People that are supporting Russia in Ukraine are people that has been living on their own historic lands and building it through generations and after -91 all of a sudden they were part of "foreign land" because paper told so. Russian people of Finland are those who have mostly moved here after the fall of the Soviet Union, not ones who have lived here historically. I'm one of those and i know that as an Ingrian-Finnish returnee that moved back in 1995. This is an correction to comparison that you've made just to say that it's not the same thing. Yet Finland does have a lot of Russian population so if they start threating Russian population the same way as Ukrainians did only to beg blood out of their nose then ye, then it would be more justified for them to come to their people's aid. I don't see this point: Ukraine became independed after the fall of USSR in -91. It MEANS Ukraine has autonomy to do what it sees best. I don't think Ukraine's dislike of Russia happened because United States said so, it happened because Crimea Peninsula was taken from Ukraine in 2014, from which conflict started between the two forces. It sounds lot more logical on ukrainian perspective than USA saying "Russia bad". And Finland has always treated russian citizens with respect. Most of russian citizens are mostly from Ingria and Karelia, the neighbouring people who came to escape USSR after fall of Continuation war. My grandmother was among those who escaped from south of Viipuri. (And these who came in continuation war had language similarities with finnish language, which made it somewhat easier for them to adapt, not sure about Ingria though.) There are of course modern russians that had fled from Russia before and after the war.

Russians did it to secure their interests (their people and crimean naval bases) AFTER west installed their puppet government in the Kiev through maidan coup so it was an REACTION to something that west did. Democratically elected president had to leave because he had two options - restore order by force and thus ignite civilwar which would have been condamned by the west "they only wanted more democracy, oh that evil dictator must go" and possibly even be targeted by western bombing campaign. The same CIA coup recipie happened all over arab spring so president Janukovich seemed to choose more peaceful option and just step down. Minority took power undemocracically but "it's ok if west does it". Obviously many people reacted to undemocratic change of power and started the opposition in other parts of the country that showed that they're more pro-russia than pro-eu and that they didn't recognize new unlawful government. To that opposition huge hordes of ultras and other brainless youngsters were gathered and sent to crack down all pro-russia rallies by force. That's how Odessa massacre happened which then made eastern ukrainians to react by installing roadblocks to prevent these ultra gangs doing the same in the east. Many busses were stopped and these bald retards dragged out. No boubt it was a organized hordes of thugs sent by the someone who wanted to escalate it all. For that reason (making roadblocks for their own safety and securing government building to show that they're not supporting the new undemocratic government and are more pro-russia) this new puppet government started "ATO" anti terrorist operation which led to even more escalation. To make it short, pretty much every step that pushed towards more escalation were made by the west and their puppets to which russia/pro-russia side reacted.

Absolute not. Ukraine was neutral. A 2013 survey showed that only 20% of Ukrainians want to join NATO. But when one year later they attack and take a huge part of your country, it is normal to look for options for protection. No matter how hard you try, you cannot blame Ukraine for the war. You really should watch his channel. Of course there are the videos from the front lines, but there are many videos where he films the carnage after rocket attacks, shelling attacks etc. Many videos have him stepping around corpses which must be very difficult to deal with emotionally and mentally. So many times he has been terrified but just continues on anyway, putting the cause before himself and his safety. He has so much footage going way back in this Ukraine/Ukraine conflict. Redacted only shows a tiny slice of what Pat's videos and mission are about.

The Berlin Wall fell on 9 November 1989 and the USSR dissolved on 25 December 1991 so this agreement would have had to have been signed between these dates. The Minsk Agreement was not signed until 12 February 2015. It is impossible that @andrewpjjuuko1737 could be referring to the Minsk Agreement since by the time it was signed the USSR had been defunct for 23 years and 12 former communist countries had already earned NATO membership. I suspect that @andrewpjjuuko1737 may either be misinformed or is actively trying to mislead others since he cannot or will not provide any specific information on this supposed agreement.

It's not "safe": Russian bombings include most of Ukraine, there are very few areas not affected. Even if you hit a bridge, chances is that you won't do structural damage with air bombings or missiles and will be repaired in no time, railways are even harder to damage and easier to repair. Taking out bridges is possible but you need to either use a massive bomb or to bring a commando and dynamite it on the spot (breaking at least one pillar, maybe several better). So that's why Russia is generally not bombing bridges. They have destroyed several in the Kupyansk area recently with precision bombings... but that's a frontline (or just behind the frontline) and thus repair crews cannot operate easily.

It is also worth adding that in 2017, Lancaster married "under" the law of the Donetsk People's Republic, which was broadcast on television operated by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. Moreover, Lancaster's outfit matches the colors of the unrecognized flag of the Donetsk People's Republic, and one of the guests was Dejan Beric, a Serbian sniper fighting on the side of the Russian Federation.

Someone once used a very fitting simile, to understand the whole situation, don't just look at a single snapshot, look rather at the whole video. Don't focus only on the snapshot of Feb 2022, look instead of the whole story, starting way back in the 1990s to understand motives and actions and reactions. Ukraine most certainly isn't a democracy. _Freedom House_ (a nonpartisan think tank that ranks democracies) has labeled Ukraine “a transitional or hybrid regime”. The _Economist Intelligence Unit,_ has also pegged Ukraine as a “hybrid regime.”

It started in 2014 when Putin's candidate for the Presidency lost by 73% to 24%. So Putin retaliated by invading Crimea and sending his mercenaries into the Donbas. Ukraine have a legal right to defend themselves.

If the West keeps on stoking this war, Ukraine may lose four more regions in addition to the five regions mentioned by Patrick. These are Kharkov, Odessa, Nikolaev and Dnipro regions, maybe even Sumy region. Fifteen months ago Russians would have been content with Ukraine's neutrality, recognition of Crimea as part of Russia and a special autonomy status for the Donbass region within Ukraine. The more this war lasts, the more territories Russia may annex.

Patrick Lancaster is not "independent": had he been "independent" in broadcasting his views, there is no way he would have been able to spend time in Russia without getting arrested. So, the fact that he never became one of those Western hostages to be exchanged for Russian spies, arrested in the West, means that he broadcasts _only_ the information, approved by the Russian State.

@@lifeisblessed4802 I don't mind anyone having whatever opinions they want. But he is not presenting it as his opinion, he states things are as he describes them. And that simply isn't the case. Besides, what he says mimics completely the Russian media narrative, so I would argue, it's not his opinion at all. And if you actually tried being a reported in Donetsk you would find out rather quickly that you would not be able to operate there unless you presented only the "correct" view. That fact that he's been able to operate there for years already tells you he is far from being independent.

Donbass, Crimea, Donesk provinces held a referendum resulting in joining Russia . Why , because they are a very large majority ethnic Russians. Kiev ihas being bombing them for over 9 years in order to destroy and replace them. The yen ruble exchange rate is a good indicator to determine whether the ruble is falling. It’s the USD that is appreciating because of the hike in interest rate causing an artificial demand for USD to service debt. However, as the USD loses its reserve currency status, America ability to use these economic tools loses its bite

Sooner or later, probably later, countries trading with the US will demand their products to be paid in gold or some other commodity instead of the dollar that's not really worth anything, then this will be the end of the dollar. The dollar is fiat money, nothing is backing it except the faith and trust in it by the other nations, and that faith and trust is being eroded right now - without the trsut and faith, the dollar isn't worth the paper it is printed on. The dollar is going to have to return to the gold standard to make other countries trust it again.

What is reasonable is to compare with the currency that is used in Russias trading which includes usd but also indian rupies and chiniese yuan.
