I was initially confused why the ranking was so low, but i think it's because they are purely ranking the galaxies by their platforming and not by atmosphere. Which kinda sucks.

it’s my favorite small galaxy, it gives the level of challenge that’s expected from the endgame for a mario game, but they’re still able to make it fun, i love it.

My favorite galaxy(/levels) for each dome is Terrace: Megaleg. I just love that boss fight and mission because I could actually do it as a kid while I had difficulties with other levels. But for a real galaxy I would go with Good Egg Fountain: Space Junk Galaxy is so fun to go through. Sure you could do most missions in a few minutes but I like to spend my time in it. The music is awesome and I love the platforms that appear from the floors. The pull star sections is so much fun and all the easter eggs are cool to spot. Kitchen: Beach Bowl Galaxy was always always a favorite of mine as a kid. Being able swim around the whole bowl and find a bunch of stuff inside of it. The Thwomp star challenge is fantastic and the extra star with the ice flower is great to do even if herding Cataquak is a pain. Bedroom: Come on Gusty Garden is just the best. From music to plat forming to how rich you can get with all the starbits. I love the galaxy so much Engine room: Toy Time Galaxy is such a unique galaxy spring Mario is annoying but an interesting power up. And the Mario/Luigi purple coin is a great test of skill. Garden: Ironically for calmest dome I love the most destructive galaxy that being Melty Molten Galaxy. I'm a fan of lava levels and this does it all right. And the ball part is so fun because most time I can do it first try at full speed. Love your guys videos been binging through them all

Love the stuff y'all produce. I'm surprised at how well written your scripts are considering the size of the channel; I would have thought more people would have subscribed by now. Regardless, keep up the good content, and I'd love to see y'all rate something like the kingdoms in Odyssey or the levels in Sunshine.

Great video, Guys! Super Mario Galaxy is my all-time favorite Wii game, as well as one of my favorites of the 7th Generation in general. I don't think I could rank all of the galaxies like you did, but here's my personal top 5 favorites: 1. Gusty Garden Galaxy 2. Freezeflame Galaxy 3. Melty Molten Galaxy 4. Toy Time Galaxy 5. Bowser's Galaxy Reactor I'm not sure what it is about Gusty Garden Galaxy that makes it my favorite, but I definitely enjoy the music, atmosphere, and platforming in that level. It's easily among my favorite sky-themed levels in video games, alongside Kingdom of Zeal from Chrono Trigger and The Palace of Winds from The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap. Likewise, Melty Molten Galaxy is one of my favorite lava-themed levels, probably coming in second to The Lost City from Shovel Knight. My least favorites are probably Snowcap Galaxy and Slingpod Galaxy, both of which I find to be absolute chores, although I have to agree that Bubble Blast Galaxy is very tedious, as well. Granted, if you think Bubble Blast Galaxy is a pain, I'm sure you'd absolutely hate Animal Antics from Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. Few video game levels have proved as infuriating for me to finish as that one, and the only thing that kept me going was that I got to listen to "Stickerbush Symphony." Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed the list, as always, and look forward to your next video!

Alex here, glad you liked the video! I've only played the new gen Donkey Kong Country games, but I have heard the originals have some pretty maddening levels scattered throughout. Also Shovel Knight is actually one of my favorite games (I'd call it my favorite 2d platformer) so I think that's a game we might cover someday

@@Cytonox Shovel Knight is definitely among my favorite games, too. I'd say it's my second favorite 2D platformer behind Rayman Legends. With regard to the Donkey Kong Country series, Tropical Freeze is my personal favorite, as I feel it built on everything that came before it in brilliant, creative ways. The original trilogy is still excellent, though. The first game can feel a bit rigid and clunky at times, but it was a great start to the series and contains plenty of iconic stages. DKC2 is my favorite of the original trilogy, but it's also the hardest game in the series in my opinion, even above DKC Returns. DKC3 is my least favorite, overall, as it relies heavily on gimmicks that are rather hit-or-miss, but I still think it's a great game, too.

I've never beaten animal antics without save states, so technically this is the only DKC game I've never 100% completed. I even 200% Returns and Tropical freeze more than once.

As long as I live I will never forget one time I was listening to the radio one time when my mom was driving me to school and I heard gusty garden galaxy's music playing it was unbelievable I was so excited and happy I was like mom mom that's Mario galaxy music I mom just smiled she likes seeing me be happy a lot of ppl in my family say my happiness and smile are contagious....well anyway that's how big Mario was at the time if u hear music from his game on the radio.

overall the list is pretty good, heres how id change it move up: honeyhive is really low and i dont know why even though gold leaf is mirror image honeyhive, its stars are different and it ends up being fun matter splatter, i just personally like this galaxy a lot move down: toy time, i personally just dont like the galaxy too much the bowser junior ones, theyre kinda underwhelming, especially the last one. just king kalliente and not much else loopdeswoop and rolling gizmo and sweet sweet galaxies are painful. the top ten can easily be rearranged, theyre each super good overall, i really like of the galaxies (other than trial galaxies, sweet sweet galaxy, and sling pod galaxy) the devs put so much time and effort into them to make one of the greatest mario games ever

Im 8:50 and it sounds more like your ranking how much you like the galaxy Rather than how good they are. Also putting the Trial Galaxys in the bottom of the last seems unusual as the Trial Galaxys are meant to be hard as they test your skill, and are also obtained by getting all 3 hidden green power stars.

your point on levels being slow paced therefore bad is a bit of a flawed way to look at Mario levels. specifically bubble blast, your supposed to take things slowly until the bullet bill section near the end. this isn't sonic where speed matters its Mario where sometimes slow plat forming can indeed work since it forces you to learn the mechanics of the level better.

Seems like a lot of liking and disliking galaxies has to do with how interesting or fun it is for you to sprint through rather than engage with the planets, music, and mechanics. Would explain why Honeyhive, Goldleaf, Beach Bowl are all relatively low.

Ironically, I found the last bowser stage easier than the other ones (I really hate Bower's dark matter planet). Playing this game on the switch is much easier than on the Wii. Shame how ice mario and fire mario have a time limit when using them, they would be a lot more fun without it, in my opinion.

i never had this issue, all the main 15 galaxies are super memorable for me. The hungry luma missions like sweet sweet, drip drop and sand spiral along with buoy base, matter splatter and bonefin are even still extremely memorable. unless if you played the game 50 years ago, these galaxies should really still stick out, but if this was galaxy 2, i would agree a lot
