The Good Cat is a really handsome vehicle. On looks alone, it could provide solid competition for the few subcompacts available in theU.S. I’m not sure what the price in U.S. dollars will be here in the States. But if it turns out to be on the low side, Ora is going to be selling a ton of these cats. Our government is so fearful of China and its products, etc., that I imagine Ora will run into a gang of difficulties getting it on the market here. As usual, the American consumer will be kept from having an opportunity to enjoy the benefits of a superior product. So, we’ll all have to wait and see if the Good Cat ever shows up here.

It has been my experience that China mechanical products have the gloss and appearance of quality, but don't have the long quality and core engineering of Japanese products or even North American or European products. There are too many shortcuts in the foundational construction. It is almost as if the product was built in reverse, since it was typically developed in reverse as a copy of something else from the outside in. Bicycles, Mopeds, Appliances, Clothing, Footwear (that comes unglued and smells wierd after 5 days or a walk on the rain). Live and learn, but occasionally they get it right... However it takes years of copying and complaints till they redesign something from the ground up. I would never buy a new thing from them. Beta testing at best.

@@Ezekiel903 Toyota. Datsun were copying BMC and Austin Motors cars on the 50s/60s as they restarted. Just as they had done in the 30s. However they eventually merged US and British systems in the 70s to build a superior product using Japanese discipline. I doubt that same result will ever come from China. Just cheaper copies of short life expectancy.

Thats why Chinese cars are insanely becoming the hype in the Philippines right now especially with Geely and their hybrid systems and Leather seats and premium features. Chery also troduced a huge SUV lineup in our country with nice designs and cheap prices. Maxus is also going into the markwt with their unique designs with nice features

It looks like a super beetle. 😍 When I found out they used to make those, super beetles, which were just the 4 door version of regular beetles, I wanted one even though they hadn't made one in decades. I found out about them decades after they had stopped making them. So I wouldn't mind one if these instead if they have enough range and they bring them to the USA.😊

The trim named Poseidon most probably has to do with the blue/white interior (which is fantastic by the way), as Poseidon was the God of the Seas.

To make it to the US, the car should be tested for safety by IIHS (or NHTSA?), as well as its supply chain has to be checked for responsible sources and production - without terrorists, child labor and slavery somewhere in Asia or Africa. Then the car can come. But to be at fair price, it has to be manufactured in the U.S. at the American fabric, and to make it worthy - you need hell lots of them being sold, maybe 100-400k units a year, which is quite possible. These three things are the reasons why so many cool and great cars don't make it to the U.S. market - Americans deserve the best of the best, not many companies and cars can fit the requirements.

All the old are so bad they rebrand them in Europe, Chrysler’s go under the names Fiat and Lancia, because no sane person would by American cars there! It’s called the American dream because you have to sleep to believe it. China will overtake USA on every possible level in a not to distant future. @@bokhans This is 2021. Here in Europe, there are no ex-Chrysler cars marketed under different brands. The company that owns Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram and many more including Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Opel, Peugeot, Vauxhall, Maserati and Citroen is called Stellantis. There are no Fiat models that are rebadged Chryslers. Several American companies enjoy great success in China, Tesla though very successful, still only makes a very small % of the world's cars.

Good review. I agree with your assessments. The rear hatchback opening looks rather small and the back seats could probably be raised and push forward a bit to give more trunk space. I find touchscreen controls on ANY car both distracting and annoying. Often, once familiar with function and placement, I can adjust mechanical switches and buttons by feel without taking my eyes off the road. That said, it’s cute. The front in particular. I agree the back looks odd. Too bad about the real world conditions not matching claims but rarely do they ever for any car. The longer charge times are particularly important as well as range. However, if this was made available in the USA at those low prices, I’d seriously consider it. Since it’s not, well, nice bit of entertainment. Thank you.
