I have a CZ 457 Varmint. We shoot at 50 and 100 yds. We use Wolf Match Extra, the Match Target is gone. In my few hundred rounds of each there is very little difference between the two in our experience. The other shooter uses a Ruger precision and our results are similar with the Wolf ammo. Your results are slightly better than ours as far as group sizes. 0.4” to 0.5”on a perfect day. Just two old retired geezers out living the dream! Great video!

Try fouling your barrel with the wolf ammo might help you get tighter groups

I was wondering if you have tried a 22 lr resizing die. I have been watching guys having good results on good ammo. I like watching your vid. Keep up the good work. Shoot Xs.

I have not. As best as I can tell the equipment is not available. I did look in to it last year.

Wow, that's something...I just got a CZ 457 Chassis gun, and it shoots Wolf Match really well! IDK, maybe I got an exceptionally good lot!!?!? My CZ seems to like Eley in general, and 22T is all over the place. I have even had pretty good luck with S&B club. Who knows, it ses to be settling in pretty well. It's about time I got a Gem, I've had a couple very pricey rifles turn out to not be worth much lately, so my time was due! 😉 If it works that way, right!? Good rifles have felt like a lottery lately, at least to me.

I believe you hit the nail on the head. If you are looking for shooting small groups and precision shooting getting an excellent shooter is like the lottery. I am glad you got your winning rifle.

I have the same problem with my CZ 457 Varmint. The last round about 50% of the time will not eject.

Where was the shadow coming from on targets sitting in bright sunny conditions?
@AimSmallMissSmall_TV3 жыл бұрын
Good question, I was hoping I had the actual video of the target view so I can get a bigger picture but I did deleted it. As I took a second look at the video I realized the none shadow parts was off the plate that is not tight against the backboard. In the morning the sun comes up from the left and is actually right at 9:00 but slightly behind the target. The part of the plate that is not tight against the backboard lets the sun shine between the two. If you watch the video at high speed you can kind of see this when the wind blows slightly. I will say looking at the shadows between 0 and 50 yards the that the shadows look like the are going away from me @ about 2:00. At 100 Yard the Shadows look like they are almost a 12:30 or 1:00. The shadows of the trees on the hill look like they are at 3:00 or 3:30. Good eye.

Has to be a difference in cameras. Your target cam sees it differently than the cam behind you apparently because your bench rest targets all look shaded.

I have been using Wolf match and other Wolf [German] made match offerings, and have been throughly satisfied with the results from all my various match rifles. The H&R model 5200 and the CZ 457 seem to prefer Wolf. Eley, was a disappointment, to say the least. Lapua comes the closest to Wolf, but not as good for what ever reason.
@stevedouglas54433 жыл бұрын
Interesting, I thought Wolf was wolf, Lapua was Lapua, and Eley was Eley. Gets a bit confusing.
@stevecochran90783 жыл бұрын
Wolf was originally made i Russia, but was contracted to a German company several years ago. Now most high end rimfire is contracted to high end manufacturers such as Lapua, SK or Eley.

As I understand it about 5 years ago SK Wold branded as Match Target, ELEY has been making Wolf since branded as Match Ultra. With that said I need Brunos sells both and maybe ELEY makes all Wolf 22LR ammo now. You can tell by looking at the back end of the brass. If you see a target looking symbol that is SK, if you see an E, that is ELEY. I go in to some details in my ammo testing video with for the Tikka T1x. I also think this is my first shooting video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZ25qYtoq82knMk
