Hello. My favorite for rifle (Anschütz) 22 lr is RWS R50 and for pistol (Ruger Mark IV. Target) is CCI Minimag 40 gr.

Excellent video. Shooting the first ten to foul the barrel before shooting the final group gives a better representation of what the rifle will do with that ammo. Also using good quality ammo makes for a nice video. Hopefully it will have viewers interested in trying good ammo in their guns. Subscibed.

Yes I agree with you, good ammo is good it’s just hard to come by where I live. Thanks so much for the subscription

Have you ever shot the 325 round bulk federal auto match? My CZ 457 shoots it surprisingly well.
@BROTUNED2 жыл бұрын
I have shot it but not in this rifle and I have none in the ammo safe. I’ll definitely look for some to try out though! Thanks for the recommendation I’ll definitely test it as soon as I get more.

A few years ago a member at my range walked over and handed me a box of CCI-SV and said "try this stuff, I swear by it". It's the one ammo that almost every gun loves to eat and produce decent to phenomenal groupings. For the money, it can't be beat.
@BROTUNED2 жыл бұрын
I agree 100% I’m still looking and test ammo looking for the unicorn 🦄 ammo for my rifle but when plinking with my kids and just out having fun it’s by far my go to ammo. I have a vid coming this week where between lapua Center -x and rws rifle match the Cci sv had the best sd of 8! It didn’t group as well as the rws but single digit sd’s from $3.50 a box ammo is awesome. I still need to try eley tenx but until then very impressed!

You don't have a rifle reasonably "fixed" in a stand. You were moving the butt around, so the comparison is not all that valid. You were a large part of the spread, and you were GOOD. But you're still a fluctuating variable in this experiment.

I was out shooting today and at 50 yrds I hit 4 of 5 spent 22 rounds that was the end of them stuck through a 22 hole in the target try that with cci or cheap

Ya and at 1/3 the price also. It’s a bit different at 100 yards and beyond but can’t be beat for the $

After 5/7 years of going back-and-forth to buy a 22- caliber bolt action, I settled on a cheap RAR that cost $400, and a cheap box of CCI/SV cost $4.65. Range day, I did not think too much about the cheap rifle, but, boy, was I given a surprise with five rounds @50 yards .55. I need to get some more, the cheap stuff from Wally World.

That’s great! My inexpensive xt22 still prints nice tight groups also which goes to show you don’t need the best rifle or the most expensive ammunition

Great vid. I have just purchased this gun and am new to the sport so know very little. Have you done a similar test at 100 yards and further? Which ammo wins at those distances?
@BROTUNED2 жыл бұрын
I used to test them at further distances but there was no real interest. Everyone wants 50 yard small groups but from the testing I have done what happens at 50 doesn’t directly translate to 100 or 200. I had ammo that printed .2” at 50 that was 1.5” at 100. Past 50 you really need to look at the sd , and es numbers they really start to matter once the range is 100 or more

Thanks for this video especially the CCI SV. Looks real good for the price. Blessings

I did a dedicated test with cci sv if you check my video library

I also noticed you have a pic rail cover under the stock. I am worried that pic rail will be sharp and dig into my sand bag. Can you recommend what you put on? Thanks
@BROTUNED2 жыл бұрын
I just went on Amazon and got a random rail cover (rubber) and cut it down to fit the bottom rail for that exact reason. That rail is just ridiculously sharp and will cause a leak in your hand or whatever else it hits so I recommend some sort of rail cover for it.

I’m assuming 50 yards to target
@BROTUNED2 жыл бұрын
Yes sir this was 50 yards. It’s amazing how different the results are at 100 and beyond
@garylozowski14192 жыл бұрын
Yes for sure! I also have CZ 457 MTR and most ammo is 1 MOA or better at 50 yards. CCI-SV is 2 MOA at 100. Most German made ammo is 1 MOA at 100 yds. I have gotten a few 1/2 MOA at 100 if no wind.
@BROTUNED2 жыл бұрын
That’s very good! Do you clean the bore before you use different ammunition?
@garylozowski14192 жыл бұрын
No cleaning between different ammo but i do shoot a 5 or 10 foulers. I probably clean every 400 rounds and always amazed how long it takes to get perfectly clean patch …. Like 15 patches. First cold bore shot on my rifle is off 3” at 100 yds.
@BROTUNED2 жыл бұрын
Ok because on my Center fire rifles I clean after about 600

@keesketsers5866 Жыл бұрын
I find that CCI SV quality fluctuates depending on the batch. Some is good, some is bad. Not seen that with SK. Also found that semi auto's that are picky run way better on SK tandard plus than on CCI. Once you start shooting with Anschutz match rifles the difference between CCI and SK becomes pretty noticeable.
@BROTUNED Жыл бұрын
Oh yes 100% but the price is also 2x more expensive I just use cci to plink around and use the higher end ammunition for target shooting
@keesketsers5866 Жыл бұрын
@@BROTUNED : overhere 1000 rounds of SK Standard is about 141 euros, CCI standard is about 110 euros.... So it's quite a bit more expensive but lucky for us not yet 2x. Nothing wrong with CCI Standard though, I still use it very regularly.
@BROTUNED Жыл бұрын
Here cci sv is about $6.50 a box and Sk standard is $11.99
