what's the benefit for free-floating barrel? I just don't like the gap underneath the barrel.

When the barrel expands from heat after shooting, a non-floated barrel may have more contact points with the stock. This has the potential to alter the point of impact after multiple shots.

@1fitRN I already had seen that it says "stock design enables easy handling of the firearm by both right and left-handed shooters"... That doesn't make it a left-hand rifle. It just means you can put it on your left shoulder. After having two rim separations in two different lots of CCI green tag... I won't be shooting any bolt gun that doesn't have the receiver wall between all those high-pressure gasses and my face.
