Leupold makes a set of rings for this rifle. I mounted a 2x7 Leupold and it matches the rifle perfectly. The supplied rings are for a much bigger scope that I wanted to add. Found it shot American Eagle .223 50 gr tipped varmint ammunition (discontinued by Federal sadly) sub 1/2 inch at 100yds off the bench. The magazine catch is a learned thing. Don't over think it and it is a one left hand operation. On some magazines the edges are rough and the first round going in is stiff. That smoothes up over time. It is a light and handy rifle that is so easy to carry. Perfect for pest and varmint control when you are not able to get near rimfire range.

I've owned one since 2008 and it's one of my favorite varmint rifles. I'm not sure why this one didn't have a free floated barrel from the factory, but mine did. The single set trigger can be adjusted to break at 1.5 pounds and shoots well under MOA with a lot of ammo. My only real complaint is that the bold doesn't cycle nearly as smoothly as it should. But it's a great rifle and has long been my go to for most varmint hunts.
@leroywinnie83006 жыл бұрын
This 527 is one very great rifle , has a very beautiful cold rolled steel blued barrel , select walnut stock ,the micro bolt works like butter , the 2 stage trigger is about 2lb.pull and the normal trigger pull is 5lb. and last the accuracy is literally on the dime, no pun intended .The scope rings that was included has Allen key screws instead of flat tips. The dislikes is the 5 shot magazine. Well, it is ok for the hunting aspects. As for the range a 10 shot magazine wouldn't be too much to ask for especially for N.Y. law's. The 527 cz.feels like a custom made rifle right out of the box!

LOVE my 527. Mine was floated very slightly from factory. Not enough for me though. I glass bedded it with JB, and shaved a bit inside where the barrel may touch. Doing this went from 1.5 MOA to 1/2 MOA with Hornady FMJ hand loads, consistently. Quality barrel. Wonderful, compact, durable, classy rifle. Don't clean the barrel often with a brush if you're going for groups. Just gently swab it a few times with CLP, followed by a dry swab.

This rifle has a small receiver that is designed for 22 centrefire cartridges. Mine weighs the same as my CZ452 22lr. This is a special rifle and mine is a 223. FYI its a European made rifle so yes, it will have some European things like safetys and lugs. Thats what makes it pleasant. It is an accurate rifle and an absolute delight to shoot.
@tpamdx16 жыл бұрын
That's a very nice rifle. On your CZ rings, it looks like you have the tops of both rings mounted 180 degrees off. On the ring top and bottom sections, CZ etches vertical alignment marks that should line up and be on the same side of the ring. On the right side of the rifle, I see the alignment marks on the ring tops but not on the ring bottoms. I don't really know how much difference this will make in your scope alignment or fitment but CZ went through the trouble to mark the rings (and maybe lapped them as a pair) so I would alignment them, top to bottom. Good luck!

@raynelson58276 жыл бұрын
Yes. My CZ527fs was also difficult. I cycled the bolt through maybe a hundred times or so on an empty chamber and it seemed to free up some. I took it shooting and at first it would barely feed ammunition from the magazine. Best not to force it but to bump the cartridge forward by moving the bolt back and forth with a few easy taps until the cartridge feeds. The feeding mechanism slowly improved and now after a couple hundred rounds it works fairly smoothly. The bolt will still bind in the housing from time to time when trying to chamber the first cartridge. It's much better but still rough compared to my other bolt action rifles. Also, I have a CZ550fs in 308 Win which had/has a similar issue. Again the action got much better with use. Both rifles are excellent shooters.

The 700BDL is oversized for the .223 and while I had one for 5 years and shot thousands of rounds at prairie dogs with it, I never grew to love it. The downsized actions like Howa Mini and CZ 527 along with the vintage SAKO Vixen are awesome handy guns.

I followed the advice to mount my scope as low as possible on my rifles. It lead to my barrel obstructing my scope. Must be a thing for guys that don't shoot far.
@landrun896 жыл бұрын
Actually it is what all long range shooters do. The lower to the barrel the more adjustment you have in your scope. You must have a low power or low quality scope.
@spraynpray6 жыл бұрын
landrun89 What would the power or quality of the scope have to do with obstruction?
@landrun896 жыл бұрын
Low powered like a 1x6 will pick up the barrel because it isn’t magnified enough. Even a 3x9 will do this sometimes. Low quality scopes have tendency to do it as well because they usually aren’t the power they claim to be
