Answering all your questions about the CZ600 Trail and also some worth mentioning details. Stock wobble, cheek piece, cycling the action, and the role that this rifle can play. Also I point out the dented cases and some failures to fire, which i can attribute to ammo QC issues, not the rifle.
The ammo in question was Winchester white box and Norma. in all cases the primer was struck twice without fire. I have ran plenty of hard primer steel case without a single issue.

Have you noticed if the left side rounds get damaged all the way till the last one, or are the dents on the brass related to the spring pressure, meaning if you have smaller magazine size, like 10, the brass takes less damage? It’s a design flaw if the bolt is putting dents in the ammo in the magazine. And reloading this ammo will be dangerous. For this cost I’d expect more out of this rifle. Can get a lot more rifle for this amount of money from other companies. Is this a nitch rifle yes it is with the collapsible stock and being a bolt gun however for the money just not something I am interested in.

I'm a big fan of bolts with higher calibers. 308, 6.5cm, 30-06, 338, chevtac. I love the 5.56 in a bolt, but I'm more interested in rifle rounds vs carbine......I will say 5.56 in bolt does so many things that help, examples are cheaper practice/midrange hunting/accessories and predictable drop.

That’s exactly my thought on this rifle in particular. As you mentioned, the 556 is a great caliber within its limitations. It’s affordable, it’s versatile, it’s easy to shoot. My question would be with it having the price tag of a decent quality AR, what makes this the better choice. Is it inherently more accurate due to the bolt action? Is it just a novelty for guys with gun safes already full of ARs?
@ZRUSOutdoorsChannel
@ZRUSOutdoorsChannel Жыл бұрын
Inherently this rifle gets compared to an AR. I tried to cover this thought in the video, but I missed an important couple of bits. A suppressor on a bolt action is much more quiet and not as much gas in the face. Unfortunately the argument over bolt action or semi auto come down to preference anymore. And the better answer might be “this isn’t just another AR”.

I wish they just made a 527 which takes AR mags, has a clip guide, and used a 3-position Ruger/Winchester safety. Instead they just abandon the only micro-Mauser action anyone makes and replace it with a gun which chews up it's own brass. I'm sure it's accurate, I'm sure it's light, I'm sure it's handy, and I'm sure it's not for me. I don't think it'll enjoy the success the 527 did, and I pray they have an improved 527 on the drawing board.

It is not a Mauser action, for sure. But it is a semi controlled feed acting. The cartridge will actually spring up onto the bolt head where it is captured and presented to the chamber. It’s a smooth action and seems very reliable with the 200rds that I have in it so far

Want to comment because you said something I don't hear often these days - "I like to have iron sights on my bolt actions." I've been in the market for a bolt gun that has irons (for target shooting at my local range) for a long while, but they're hard to come by. There's the 2 or 3 scout rifles, some traditional internal magazine-fed hunting rifles, and some 100-year old rifles.... but not much else. And the vast majority of them are in .308 or 30-06. This CZ 600 Trail sounded appealing, though. What sort of irons did you put on yours? How well do they function (if you've used them)? Thanks for the video, regardless - it was definitely helpful.

I have not contacted them yet on the issue, but i also dont see it as so abnormal. My mini14 would do the same thing... pretty sure i had another boltaction (cant remember which one) that would do the same.

Question: where did you buy the "birdcage" flame-hider? CZ 600 Trail has M15x1 threaded muzzle (metric) and all I can find for my rifle is 1/2x28. I tried to order from Europe but they have also only 1/2x28 since AR-15 become popular - and NO metric size.

It takes AR mags, but it seems most metal AR mags won’t fit.

@@ZRUSOutdoorsChannel I believe anyone who sees that damage to the cases would say that's not normal. It will be interesting to see if they have anything to say about it in the CZUB Gunsmithing School. If I were you I would definitely contact CZ-USA about it.

Ive got one in .223. I love it for a snowmachine gun here in Alaska. They messed up one big thing with it though: They made the barrel a 1 in 7 twist so it can handle the heavy long bullets, except....They made it with AR-15 mags, which dont allow the super long bullets 😩. Defeats the purpose of having the 1-7 twist. The long eld and 90 grainers dont fit in the mags! Id be perfectly fine with a proprietary magazine that allows a longer C.O.A.L.

@@ZRUSOutdoorsChannel I forgot to mention that I just sold my 527 7.62x39 because of few problems. Maybe I'm too picky with my rifles but if any of them create some problem I'm getting rid of it (including Sako S-20). So far the ONLY rifle without any problems is my 70 years-young Winchester 94 :) ... and CZ 600 Lux is working great so far.

@@ZRUSOutdoorsChannel 1st problem was the mag with bad feeding the rounds. Finally needed to buy another mag. 2nd, very first day on the range I lost the obviously badly installed rear sight. Not big deal because I used the scope. CZ parts support never answered when I asked for help to find the replacement. Finally, after several months my gunsmith has found one for me.

I am absolutely getting one. I hope they do make it in 308 eventually as well but here is the points ive wanted: Rail all the way across the top for my choice of iron sights, what good is a rifle with no sights if your scope breaks in the field Ar mags, this is huge Smooth action with rediculiously strong case ejection, i dont know how many times ive tried running bolt guns fast and they jam, unless they are the mauser non rotating claw style, and this gun actually has a version of that. Look at that brass fly. Collapsible stock. This thing is super light and tiny for transport. Its perfect for the trail as its name implies, but transport, weight, this thing is easy peasy. its also just going to be a fun, functional shooter. Yes, you can buy an ar cheaper, i have them, but running a bolt has its place and frankly its fun as hell. Thanks for the video man.
