I saw the other two comments about this being a CZ 75 rather than a CZ 75B, but I think it's something else entirely. The slide isn't marked B and doesn't have the roll pin so you would definitely think it's a pre-B. Toward the end of the video though he puts an SP-01 magazine in it and it locks in properly. The pre-B used a different magazine that isn't compatible with the newer ones. Also, the lower is marked "Made in Czech Republic" and I believe all pre-B were manufactured and marked while it was still "Czechoslovakia". I'm thinking this is a pre-B slide on a 75B frame. I've never tried that so I'm not sure if it's even possible, but it sure looks that way.

Now I'm seeing that there were apparently some transitional models between the 75 and 75B, maybe it's one of those.

do you know where it was surpluses from, military or police? great project gun

The CZ is a wonderful pistol, highly accurate and will wear like metal that it is. One thing that has always bugged me in a sort of strange way, we know very old firearms can still function after 100, 200 years or more- with careful loadings of course. Will polymer last as long? We won't really know for another few long years. Great project gun and easy to work on.

The internals look good, if anything you got a free polish job.. cosmetics will take some work but will be a good project

All I can say is that model is one of the finest shooting firearms I have ever shot. I love mine. I got mine used also and it's great. The rifling in the barrel looks great and not shot a great deal. Get you a set of new grips and reblue the gun and buy a wilson spring and a brass stacker steel guide rod and clean it really good then you should be good to go. That one looks abused but not "used" or shot that often. It was probably a recovery from some police evidence property bin that got thrown around after it was found in some abandoned car.

Should be a fun project. I'm sure the cerakote and upgrades should be pretty nice. Anxious to see the finished project

Your gun is a 1995 CZ 75. Must have seen some stuff because I've seen older surplus CZ 75 pistols in way better shape. Your gun is not a pre-B as some comments have suggested.

There was a time when you could buy the basic black enameled finish 75B with two 10rd mags, right grip thumb rest, new, for $350. Supposedly Turkish contract overruns, though I never believed it. I bought one back then. You can't go wrong with a CZ75 or 75B. I hope your project turned out well!

Little polishing sanding cleaning maybe a few new parts and a cerakote job it will be all good
@MrBulletpoints7 жыл бұрын
The beater didn't look that bad until you put the new one next to it. Still, like you said, it's just finish wear mostly. Cerakote will do wonders for that CZ.

Great minds think alike. Bought one just like yours about a year ago. Very smooth and fit my hands better than any other gun in my collection. Just wouldn't shoot though. Bought a pair of Lok grips (very nice but my wife hates the color) and just replaced the barrel. Had to hand fit it but it locks up like a bank vault,no slop. Will probably replace the barrel bushing too. Quite a bit of slop there also. If it shoots as good as as I hope than probably will bead blast, do any clean up of outside then re-bead blast and send it to Robar for Np3 plus treatment. Would probably have been cheaper to just buy a new gun but whats the fun in that. I've never been known as the most practical guy anyway. Have fun with yours.

very cool, I'll be interested to see what you do with it, just dehorn it, or ate they calling it melt down or something like that. hell $339 is about what I have left after garnishment every month.

Pops Quest, I have a CZ75 B SA on layaway with Bud's Gun Shop. The price is listed for $561 (much less the on Gun Broker). That works out to $222 more that your surplus CZ. How much money to anticipate spending to bring the gun back to A1 condition?

If your project starts running over budget in regard to what a new one cost, just remember in the early 80's a CZ 75's were unobtanium in America due to the cold war restrictions, and some people were paying up to $1,500 for them to be shipped in "grey market" from Canada. You could have bought a couple of Colt Pythons for that at the time...
