I bought this as my first SxS with the cerakote and magnets and was not dissapointed. It's a heavy, but durable shotgun. I broke it in this past September at a friends place trap shooting. It did have a bit of a jam in the tang safety, but I eventually worked it free and its functioning normally (and safely). I like this shotgun because it will spit out anything chambered in 2 3/4 or 3" and the action is very tight.

You can use Carlson's extended choke tubes(Huglu). I use improved cylinder in right barrel and modified in left barrel. Good options I have used for 50 years.

It is a very nice rifle. I have the 66 numbered English stock. It is very nice for my bird hunting. It is made in Turkey and is of high quality

I get your preference for extended choke tubes, but in the case of a classic style double I prefer the recessed, as it maintains a traditional appearance.

It’s definitely a trade off either way. I agree the look is better with recessed, but practicality (at least for me) is better with extended.

I just bought a CZ Sharptail 28 gauge from Midway USA that was on clearance. It was $1020 out the door with the FFL transfer fee. I will be receiving my rebate soon, so the grand total will be $920 when it’s all said and done. Can’t wait to get out in the pheasant fields this November.

The Sharptail has one trigger that is a good mechanical trigger. It will shoot the second barrel as fast as you can squeeze the trigger for follow-up shot. I have always preferred single trigger because all you have to do is squeeze the trigger again instead of sliding your finger back to the second trigger. ​@@offthepathoutdoors

@@robinbanion3772 I actually like the option of being able to select the barrel and essentially the choke. I can even load different ammo if I want and select which one to fire based on the situation. Plus I just think the double triggers are fun!

At the time the rebate could be submitted until a certain time but the gun had to be purchased by the end of September. They may have extended it. I haven’t done a lot of shooting with it yet but I did knock down my first ruffed grouse with it and have carried it for many hours and miles this fall already

1 notch is full 5 notch is cylinder

Yes, that bit really stumped me. The notches represent the spread of pattern, so five notches means cylinder, and 1 notch means a full choke.

That's surprising. SxS usually shoot very flat. With mine you have to basically cover the target.

Maybe this could help. If right handed point at what you are shooting at with your left hand, controlling both barrels to move forward toward what you are shooting. Focus all your attention on the bird only. Keep eyes on the bird only. Don't look at the rib or the bead. Bring gun stock to head, don't bring your head to gun stock. That is the cause of missing most birds. The book by Robert Churchhill, "Game Shooting" is a very old but helpful book on shooting a SXS correctly. You will be successful with your SXS by using your mind's eye (instinct) like when you throw a ball to hit the baseball glove. The brain is the greatest computer we have. It really will work. I am 72 and have shot many Quail, pheasants, prairie chickens, ducks, and geese with my SXSs.

Just came across your channel. We have a lot in common! I actually bought a the same gun from EuroOptics in Montoursville in March, I went with the intermediate since i wanted a 13.5" LOP. I plan to do a review but want to do some more hunting with it first. I went to Potter County last weekend and did not find many grouse but I did shoot two woodcock. What town are you from?

Everybody is built different, but it seems to fit me well and I shoot well with it the few times I shot sporting clays with it. I also shot my first 2 grouse with it this fall!

I am an avid SXS hunter. Curious how far is your nose from you right thumb? I use 3 finger gap between my nose and right thumb. However, I shoot the Sharptail single trigger. The second Quail is dead before the first bird hits the ground.

Good review except for the time that you said that one notch was cylinder. One notch is actually full choke. Cylinder is 5 notches.

Double trigger guns are almost always paired with a straight stock. This allows hand adjustment to engage the second trigger pull. Pistol grips tend to lock the hand in place.

Do you have any of these issues? I have a 20 gauge Bobwhite G2 Southpaw and sent it back to CZ for warranty repair due to black chrome wiping off, loose foregrip and cracked site rib (about 1/2 foreward of the action). Try wiping a white cloth up and down your barrels and see if you get black residue on the cloth. I believe this is an issue with Huglus black chrome since I see the same thing on a VZ Drake O/U.

I’m not sure on the number but the case color is only available on the 20 gauge at sportsman’s warehouse. They also sell the black one at sportsman’s too but the listing online would say.

Avoid CZ shotguns. Bought one brand new, it was defective, CZ CS told me it would take 10-12 months to replace. You can't be serious !

I did have have the same problem but luckily I had a retire store which is called Scheels. I had a problem with the receiver which didn’t work. So I took it back and got a new one for free.

Everyone has their own problems, never had an issue with cz. Shot over a thousand shells through the bobwhite.
