I picked up a savage T-333 at a pawnshop it was a really nice shotgun the few hours I owned it , got 2 shots and it failed mechanically I returned it to the pawnshop (thank god they where cool about it ) because that specific gun is hard to get parts for . I think I will pick up this 12g after watching this vid

A 12 gauge is one of the most useful guns in my opinion (bird hunting, small game, self defense) and something every red blooded American should own. Of course I’m sure half of the country would disagree with that statement! 😉

Hunters and gun advocates need to take note of what Washington did with their gun laws and try to keep it from happening to your state! I wanted to buy a semi auto .22 for my kiddos with a threaded barrel for a suppressor and couldn’t because they are illegal now!

I have a variety of CZ shotguns. The Sportsmans exclusive Woodcock G2 in 12 & 20 were the first over/under shotguns I purchased. I really enjoy shooting them. I went with CZ after purchasing a 1012 semi auto for my first Pheasant hunt. CZ shotguns are great value guns! Good quality and affordable prices. I used my 1012 this week for dove season. It worked flawlessly as expected! By they way, if you watch some of the CZ videos, most of them have the exact same CNCed action - the wood and engraving are different resulting in the price differences but the same internals. 🙂
@NorthwestOutdoorsWithRustyАй бұрын
Thanks for the feedback and hopefully your dove hunt went well. I’m all about finding value and you are spot on that it appears that the price differences are more lipstick than actual material upgrades. I’m ok saving some cash and going with something with less flash! 😂
@TheFishingPilotАй бұрын
@@NorthwestOutdoorsWithRusty Absolutely! I prefer the case colored finished to a high shine silver or even black finish. As far as the wood goes, it's a little soft and scratches easy but it's a field gun and not a show piece! If it had 'purty' wood, I would be afraid to take it out 🙂. Take care and have fun!

The finish on the receiver is actually really cool! The way it looks heat treated with that pattern but it’s simple at the same time

I have always been curious about CZs in general and really regret not picking up a side-by-side .410 that was in stock when a local Gander Mountain went out of business. I do enjoy O/Us a lot (have a Beretta in 12 and Brownings in 20 and 28). They just have a different feel in the field.

They are definitely worth a look considering their price point!

Just my 2 bits; there is so much you can do and so many rounds you can pass through the barrel(s) as compared to a centerfire rifles. I recommend spending as much as you can afford on a shotgun and maybe even a little more. Over Unders are fabulous and failproof 2 shot semiautos. Buy the best you can afford.
@NorthwestOutdoorsWithRusty16 сағат бұрын
I appreciate the input! I always recommend spending within your budget, and also keeping in mind how much you will be using that gun. I think so many of us worry about the number of rounds a barrel/action can handle before we blow it out when in all reality we aren’t competitive shooters and that gun will last 3+ generations before we need to swap out parts!

@@NorthwestOutdoorsWithRusty I had a brick and mortar FFL. I'd say that most O/U's should last even an avid shooter a few lifetimes of hunting, a trap league or two and throwing some clays out back. Even the Russian Baikals I was selling back in the day. The only O/U that I ever saw that would wear out were the Red Label's, thankfully they have been long discontinued. I stumbled across this because my son was inquiring about the CZ's. I remember when a well off banker stumbled into my store and he was going to buy his first deer rifle. He had been deer hunting for 40 years and never owned a deer rifle! He told me, "bad investment. You fire them a few times to make sure it's zeroed then one for the deer. Bad investment." "....whereas a shotgun you (could) fire it thousands of times a year; trap, skeet, sporting clays, grouse, pheasants, etc and people spend $200 on a shotgun but $1000+ on a gun hardly ever fired." I love my shotguns. My main is a Gran Lightening. I also own a Superposed. Then I have 2 A5 12's, a Sweetie and a mag 20. The A5's aren't perfect and if you have a heavy jacket on and don't pull it in tight it won't function well, so I pull them in tight. Not my choice in a late season duck boat. The 20 gauge I bought was a high trade kinda deal. A guy I knew was always wanting me to trade and order him something cool. One day he came in with a black Browning box. I opened it and there was a 1968 ( my birth year) A5 mag still in the greased paper and plastic bags. He bought it in 1971 put a box of shells through it and didn't like it because it was too light and "whippy". "Six hundred and its yours". Just wow. 😎 Eventually I gave it to my son. We are going to find a way to check out those CZ's in person. Thanks for the vid.

Thanks for the video, I’ve been looking at a lot of budget O/U’s and this one never was on my radar, but is now. Really like the color case receiver too. I believe the word you’re looking for on the sights is five optic, lol.

I’m with you on the color of the receiver. It is different and not as flashy. You are right, fiber optic is what I was looking for. That’s what happens when you don’t have a script and are just real! 😂

I’m in Washington as well. I’ve been shooting a drake all terrain for waterfowl for 5 seasons now. I’ve completely abused it as a boat paddle, walking stick, and many other things that would make most OU owners scream in horror. But, it’s never skipped a beat

I was looking for an over under before this dove season in california. I had to choose from a CZ woodcock G2 12 gauge i believe 649$ before tax not sure or a mossberg gold 20ga reserve 849 was the price tag. They told me the price was wrong and it was 949* dude said ill just sell it to you for the price on the tag. Ended up getting the 20 o/u mossberg. Super light and easy to swing. Long days of field carry youll notice the weight.i havent seen any reviews on the gold reserve but hopefully i made a good buy. Forgot to metnion it came with 5 extended chokes
@NorthwestOutdoorsWithRustyАй бұрын
Mossberg is a solid choice. For doves I think you made the right choice going with a 20 gauge. Having the extra chokes makes it a very versatile gun. Good luck this season!

I have never owned a gun before but I have shot a shotgun but that was like 5 years ago recently Im currently stuck in a bit of a pickle I'm in between waiting for Sportsman to have their black Friday deals I spoke to them this past Saturday and they said that all their guns will be on sale if not it will come with like a 100-150$ coupon and I'm the impatient type but I'm willing to wait honestly I love the color of the metal frame idk what its called but ya know what I'm talking about its very unique honestly I agree with you on the white optic sight id rather switch that out for a different color, and I've heard that getting a limb saver on that helps a lot. or I buy a cheap one that's like 400-500 and call it a day but I think ima go with the cz honestly wait it out for a good deal and I can rent a shotgun at the range for the meantime.

@@NorthwestOutdoorsWithRusty thanks! question tho i am left handed and I've been told that there isn't a difference between left and right-handed o/u shotguns but apparently, the way that the ammo ejects depends on of its a left or a right-handed shotgun but very slightly can you fact check that for me next time you eject a round thx!
@NorthwestOutdoorsWithRustyАй бұрын
@@robertojrreyes9332 I’m doing a sporting clay shoot on Friday so I’ll try and pay attention to that. My first thought is that since the rounds eject straight back the hand you shoot shouldn’t matter. On a rifle or semi auto it would for sure.
