A fair few of the Slavic countries are the same when it comes to poor quality of ration. Corruption is a problem when officials skim off the top.

That's rather an assumption isn't it? What part of this ration was poor quality (aside from the soup and the yogurt bar)? As far as I can tell, there is far more emphasis on healthy ingredients (protein, minerals, carbohydrates, salts, vitamins, etc) than any other ration I've seen. It may not always look pretty, but it does taste good.
