True Sportsmanship In Chess. Due to conveyance issues, the Indian women team arrived late. After some of the team members arrived and the arbiter asked to start the clocks, the Czech Republic players decided not to start the clocks and wait for their opponents. Such moments make the game of chess beautiful. Kudos to the team.

Respect to Vantika's opponent 📈📈 That game really went down the wire and Vantika was truly down on time. Some moves were played by Vantika even when there were less than 10 secs on clock. Czech team may have lost the round but gained respect 🫡

According to Anna Cramling the busses were all screwed up and so many teams arrived late - the US ended up taking the Metro.

Lol I didn’t see the sportsmanship bit in the title, and so I thought it was gonna be a situation where the whole Czech team were black and refused to start white’s clock as a form of protest, as if to say “if you’re gonna be so late you can start your own clock”

Game starts at 3 PM Budapest time., please note. Moreover, the delay was due to conveyance issues which was not Indian team's fault. USA team, in fact, had to take a metro to come to the venue as there were no buses available at that time.

Good sportsmanship indeed by the Czechs, but it looks like the Indian players let their clocks run a while before starting to play _anyway_ (as do the Indian men), so I have to wonder if being late and letting the clocks run is a deliberate 'mind games' strategy.

Plenty of excuses given but it is not the organisation, transport, drivers, vehicles, traffic or others there who should make sure you get to the hall in time to sit down to play. Always go out way earlier to arrive early before you become late. Just wise up on time.
