Czech Trolleybuses in Pardubice - Trolejbusy v Pardubicích - Obus

Trolleybuses have operated in the Czech city of Pardubice since 1950. This short film was shot on the 70th anniversary of the network in summer 2020.
Located in Central Bohemia, one hour east of Prague on the country's main railway corridor, Pardubice is an underrated destination that is a true insider tip for both transport and tourism. The city (population 92 000) has an attractive Old Town with several prominent landmarks, including a stunning main square and charming chateau. Also the new town boasts an attractive mix of Art Nouveau architecture and functionalist buildings dating from the 1920s, 30s, 40s and 50s, among them the brick-built main station.
The trolleybus network has a nominal length of 31.5 km and is served by 11 day-time lines. There are no articulated vehicles in use, but a large number of the impressive 3-axle, 6-wheelers! The whole regular fleet is now with low-floor access and the latest generation Škoda 32 Tr features metro-styling and is fitted with bus bodies from nearby producer SOR.
As a "best kept secret", a visit to Pardubice is warmly recommended for transport enthusiasts and common travellers alike. Thanks to the excellent location of the city on the main line, it's easy to get there by train with frequent connections.
As a local peculiarity, the trolleybuses carry the names of different horses who have all won the local steeplechase race.

Die Oberleitungsbusse in Pardubice sind seit 1950 unterwegs und werden vom Depot Dukla aus betrieben. Rund 60 Trolleys stehen zur Verfügung, alle mit Elektrik von Škoda, jedoch mit unterschiedlichen Lieferanten für die Wagenkasten. Einige der älteren Hochflurwagen vom Typ 14Tr sind noch vorhanden im Betriebshof, jedoch nur noch eiserne Reserve oder als Museumswagen erhalten. Die nostalgischen O-Busse vom Typ Škoda 8Tr und Škoda 9Tr sind ebenfalls betriebsfähig.

Hi, these newest "Metro Style" trolleybuses in Pardubice are Škoda 32Tr with coach bodies from SOR. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C5%A0koda_32Tr_SOR But yes of course, there are many Czech cities with Solaris diesel buses and also Solaris trolleybuses, like in Ostrava.
