We do some of the same things in Nebraska. It’s nice to understand where they come from and I for one am happy our ancestors kept them alive when they came here.

That is so wonderful! I hope they will keep doing all those wonderful traditions. :)

Such a wonderful celebration! I will visit the Czech Republic for the first time next year! My ancestors first started immigrating in 1854, from Boravá. I grew up dancing Polkas! The outfits are beautiful. I hope that I can see a Hody, when I visit. How can I find out when the celebrations are occurring next year? Love your You Tube videos. Thank you!

Here you can see calendar and you put dates in European way - date first and than month. You might need to use google translate since I think it is only in Czech but you will see all that is happening in South Moravia on here. www.jizni-morava.cz/cz/kalendar-akci/ These events usually happen from May until November. I hope you can visit and see this. :)

If you want to see this you have to visit Moravia. It's very rare in Bohemia and nonexistent in Prague.

I hope you can experience this one day. You need to visit South Moravia next time to see. ;) These are happening all over (if there is no pandemic). This year is all canceled but hopefully soon it will be happening again.

@@czechcookbook Thank you for your lovely reply. I will keep watching your channel for news. I must come there. I have been to, and seen, a number of Austrian, and German similar celebrations, but this has stolen my heart)))

I miss the cultural identity, something we lack somewhat in the USA. Our European roots..

Thank you for your replies. Here is the problem though, we live in the US using US ingredients to make your Czech dishes. Now you are back in Cz using original Cz ingredients. Oh no what are we to use? Lol 😂

Mr. E-Man M haha. No worries at all. I have friends in USA who test my recipes before I record them. I need to make sure it will work in USA. 😉
