As a Canadian I was hoping for the Swedes to win, seeing as we struggled with the Czechs and dominated our game with Sweden. It’s not the shots you take but the goals you score that really count in the end. Hats off to Czechia for their cool heads and persevering efforts to cinch their gold medal opportunity with not one but _two_ last-minute beauties! I was at this game and out of the three games I watched in person this is easily my favourite game not only in person but of the tournament that I have watched. super close looked like we may not have overtime next then boom goal and I will be honest, I have never heard a place no louder for a non Canada game then I did in that game when the tiring goal was scored the whole Scotiabank center Just exploded and seating in the corner near the Sweden net was a great spot to see all the goals including the ot winner.

Neskutečný turnaj a především super práce hlavního kouče, výrazně kvalitnějších beků než v minulých turnajích této věkové kategorie a včera především Suchánka. Samozřejmě klobouk dolů před celým týmem, že to navzdory nepřízni sudích a rychle ubíhajícímu času v závěru nezabalil. Morální sílu prokázal tento tým neuvěřitelnou. Prodloužení jde hlavně za Suchánkem, co on pochytal se dá srovnávat s Haškem v Naganu. Medaile je po 18 letech jistá, paráda!!!

While we knew it and tried to fend your last push off, you showed the world that in ice hockey a few minutes is loads of time to catch up. An extremely fun game to watch, and from our Swedish side it was fun to see our team start growing into their potential. Fair victory for the Czechs. Only the commentators (and possibly the media) think we were good in this JVM. Our luck ran out after the quarters. This team playing for medals is crazy enough 1) When we only win against Germany 1-0 while the other better nations win much easier against them 2) Takes over 10 min to even get a shot on goal against Finland, just our goalie and ultra luck that we won that game with a bouncing puck, also far less shots on goal 3) Significantly fewer shots than the Czechs in the semis, swe commentators call a 0-0 period "their best in tournament", can't score 5vs3, icing pucks 24/7, which leads to a 1-1 & late loss

@@mygghunter That's still not a good excuse you can't even be near scoring a goal with 1:55 and a 2 man Adv. As if the icing pucks were not bad enough. Even the Canadian commentators and their press said they were "sloppy". I do agree that leading by 1 goal and play def for half a period is just...I stop there. Problem is, Sweden often give games away. This neverending dabbing with passes, speed, shots on goal. It's the same bs every tournament and all you hear is the same excuses during the period breaks "well we need to shoot more, we need to be more aggressive, need to do X, Y and Z" well they should know this from the very *Start* sigh. TLDR ADD: One of the main problems Sweden has when it comes to the last matches is that their nerves break down. How many times did we not lead with 3(4) - 0 and still lost a game... Especially when you face the good nations. You can't rely them leading by 3-4 goals. They get soft "we got this boys, just dabble and play on" inviting enemy team in. Last time we did a turnover like that was frikking 2003 vs FInland, winning 6-5 or against Russia but that was back with Peter Forsberg era lol. Us leading 3-4 goals against less experienced teams, sure it's a win. But vs USA, Kanada, Russia, Cz, FInland etc, it's still 50/50 game, always. Compared to vise versa.

Oh gosh, Glad I missed the game and watched only the highlights. I'd have died of heart attack. Anyway, this reminds me of the senior WC 2010 semifinal. Also Sweden, also a goal in the last minute of regular time, and eventually Czech victory in shootout...It is good to see Czech national team playing an equal game with Canada, Sweden and Finland again. P.S.: I wish you Swedes the best in the next match!

This team is taking the Czech media by storm, I remember when Czech juniors were pretty much mocked for even trying, usually finishing 7-8th at best. I'm proud to be Czech during these moments, stoked for the finals aswell

Sweden dominated nothing in this game, only OT. And without very loose refereeing - that on the other hand offered Swedes 2 minutes of 5 - 3 powerplay, based on non-existent hooking - they would had much bigger problems with their stiff defense-play. 7 to 8!!! penalties throughout the game were forgiven on Sweden side, including 3 high-stickings. So you guys were punished justly.

Všimli jste si, že před vyrovnávací brankou ten moula švédskej posune zlomenou hokejku více mezi kruhy. Kdyby to neudělal, velmi pravděpodobně by střela zasáhla právě tu zlomenou hokejku. 🏒
