I was in Costa Rica for two weeks just came back. I was in Jaco, Quepos, La Fortuna, San Jose, Puntarenas. I would recommend going to Limon and Puerto Viejo. I plan to go back in April to see that side. I feel in love with Costa Rica.

Thanks @Czech. Was good to see this. I have been to Costa Rica about 5 times and stayed each time for weeks at a time and had an absolute blast. Most of the time I stayed in San Jose and also took trips to Arenal, and the rain forest and even went white water rafting which was an absolute blast. Their is a resort called Baldy and it is near Arenal, it is a hot springs resort that has at least 12 different kinds of hot springs and even has a water slides. If you get a chance, you MUST....MUST check it out.

The most beautiful storm Ive ever seen was Oct 2011 in Jaco Beach , Manuel Antonio Park is must see as well , horseback riding and ziplining in the rainforest are just some of the highlights . Enjoy and be safe you'll love it . Pure Vida !

Went to Jaco last summer, my first time in Costa Rica as well. Agreed, the people are among the friendliest I've ever met. I stayed just off the strip you are walking and everyday, I woke up and ate, drank, and was feet from the beach. Jaco was incredible. I even ventured into the rain forest. You can go on ATV tours etc. The food was amazing. Plenty of friendly Costa Ricans in this area. I will be back yearly.

Gotta say that if you loved Jaco, then 90 minutes further is Manuel Antonio which is much better. It's not as easy to get around as Jaco (think mountain side town with a beach at the bottom) but the beaches, food and just all around atmosphere is much better than Jaco. Spent over 10 years in Costa Rica and Jaco is ok but most Costa Ricans avoid it if they can...And as the other person that responded said, Guanacaste is really where the most beautiful parts of Costa Rica are!!

@@JrBrowne I actually made it there is well. I did not stay confined to Jaco, but instead ventured out daily. Thee was soooooo much to do. Next time I will visit the other coast, but again, plan on making this a yearly journey. It's actually always been a dream of mine to retire to Costa Rica. Amazing country.

Great video. I have never spent time in Jaco, I’ve heard so many different things about Jaco it never really interested me. I’m Costa Rican and I think this is the best video I’ve seen about it on KZbin. La “casona” in San Jose is the place to go. “The big house” is in downtown and the best place to get souvenirs. Everything else is overpriced and the same exact stuff. Puerto Limón, Santa Maria de Dota, Atenas, etc there are so many beautiful parts of Costa Rica. Enjoy!!! Pura vida mae🇨🇷💪🇨🇷

Was hanging there 15-20 years ago. Was just surfers and chicas. Very mellow. Ticos are really cool people. But like everywhere . Keep your eyes open. Beatle Bar was the spot back then. Last time I was there it had moved onto Hotel Cocal. Loaded with beautiful girls. And most were pretty nice as well. Pura Vida. Costa Rica is a wonderful place. Also just ask for comida typico. They’ll hook you up with some rice and beans. Some meat. It’s good and affordable.

Jaco was cool. Becareful wherr you go at night lol. Way too hot for me there though I prefer the interior of the country lol. There's a hotel across from that Johannes park wherr you can see some giant iguanas , ask them to feed them for you 😉. Oh and go to the sodas for the casado.

Manuel Antonio and Quepos are worth visiting too and only about 40 minutes south of Jaco and like someone else said the Caribbean side is different and more like Jamaica. Have fun and stay safe.

This will make you laugh , just take a turn at the Imperial sign..lol in CR cities stop lights are. Suggestion and good luck and finding street names or addresses . With all meals, Gallo Pinto is one of their traditional dish served . ( beans and rice dish) South of Limon is very Caribbean. West coast like Jaco is more for tourist, some hidden Playas for locals that are very nice black sand beaches. Enjoy your adventures, keep posting the very cool videos. Pura Vida. !!

@Root Lady, look into Panama. Lots of blacks folks there. Most speak English with a strong Caribbean accent. You can find some beautiful, inexpensive please to live. Costa Rica can be more on the expensive side as it's a huge vacation destinations....
