Today I went to meet Pacho a friend I met on my last video , while recording Rio. He wanted to show me his Favela in the North Zone or Zona Norte .
Mare Rio de Janeiro is one of the dangerous Favelas Brazil, while recording I went wrong route and did not expect what I saw. I got caught up with armed gansters roaming and watching your territory.

Advice for gringos : You can't take pics or film in the favelas without permission, never go alone without a friend who lives there, lower your car window so people can see who you are and turn the light on when entering there. Favelas are a place not even brazilians wanna go, so think twice before you, a gringo decide to go there. There's nothing magical to see most people are workers who are unfortunately struggling financially so they live there, there's nothing beautiful in poverty, the problem is the criminals that use the people there as a shield from the police and hide in these places. My dream is that one day the government will remove these people from these areas and give them better houses, them turn the favelas into an historical tourist destination or build another things there .

I live in Rio and I know these favelas well, sometimes even going with residents accompanying you, things can still go wrong. A message for those who come to Brazil, favelas are not good places to make content, if you bother the wrong person, you won't get out of there alive. I advise you to go to in Centro Luiz Gonzaga de Tradições Nordestinas, the quality of the food there is very good and still gives content.

@Samatha that’s not reality though he is showing a country not just the tourist spots, New York & LA are the two largest cities in the US and if a foreign tourist has street smarts and speak decent English there is a lot more to see and experience than just Hollywood and Manhattan, and the same can be said for any country whether it 1st or 3rd world. I liked this video because you show the real Rio and not just the touristy spots, but we do want you be safe and sometimes I/we forget you're walking around recording with and expensive highly desirable iPhone. You stopped using the go pro's? I was surprised when you met your guide you didn't sit at a table for a minute, have beer and chopp it up with some of the local yocal's and put that on video, but I know you like to keep it moving to see more of the barrios.
