Kyungsoo or Exo's D.O is highly praised for his vocal agility and for making wonderful melismas, runs, adlibs, he also has a beautiful tone of voice that envelops you. He is nicknamed as the king of R&b, although most of his solo songs are acoustic, he can sing any register and in many languages with hardly any accent... Within Exo, the group where he is (apart from having 3 solo albums) there are great singers (all sing) like Chin o Baekhyun but they are the main singers along with D.O, but my favorite is D.O, I love his voice and his personality...

Everyone has already said what needed to be aid about D.O. I just want to add a little fact that'll put things in perspective for you. the reason you hear IU give more grit and use her full voice is bcz she is singing with D.O. who makes people have to be serious and putting their everything in it while singing with him. She usually doesn't go off unless its her concert or just performing solo in order to not overpower the other singer. So when she is giving her all means that she considers D.O to be on an equal level as her, vocally. This has been mentioned by two other great female vocalists/artists Lee Suhyun of AKMU and Lee Youngji so you can be sure its not just fans saying this but people who have actually worked with him, have mentioned how it sounds and feels different to hear him through a recording vs having him in one room, sitting with them and his voice powerfully resonating in that space without him having to do much or open his mouth. his volume is still loud. he believes in snging like he is talking, not strained, not too much going on but best believe he can do much more and he does when he wants to show off. This is him just matching the vibe of the song and telling a story with his voice as he also happens to be a phenominal actor, much like IU.

Kyungsoo's style is an understated one, so it rarely seeks to astound or impress. That said, this is the gentlest rendition of Love Wins All I’ve ever heard-heart-tugging and deeply persuasive, especially when he sings, "Go to the end with me, my lover." At the climax of the song, he refrains from pushing his voice just to prove he can belt or hit high notes at a certain volume. In the duet’s final part, he supports IU and yet you can always hear him voice and color, resulting in a breathtaking harmony and a rich, beautiful spectrum of color in their voices.

So surprised to see Kyungsoo on this channel~ lol~ & no, he's not zoning out, it's his typical expression, like he can literally do vocal gymnastics with a very calm expression lol~ & this was a cover switch up on IU's show. Thanks for the reaction. So refreshing to hear someone listen anew, but this is another funny clip chosen to showcase IU, as it is a one-off performance with D.O guesting an IU's original song in front of the original singer. Also, it may be useful to be aware of the context of what they are singing. The song tells an emotional story of internal monologue from the female perspective regarding the end of the world and the doomed inevitability, it was never created as a duet or for male key, so his 'casual effortless' in the beginning, reflects that internal monologue interpretation that is typical of an IU song, one that is never about showing off her vocals but more of the storytelling. (They both are the best idol actors of their generation, IU esp being the lyricist, so the way they enunciate depends very much on the emotion.) The reprisal key change remains one of my fav collab of the year, each complements the other with minor tweaks from their usual way of singing.

Surprised at the lack of actual comment on D.O performance. Given it was the majority of the song. The comments were more about what he was looking like. He is classed as one of the best male vocalists of his generation. Only his EXO members Chen & Baekhyun could have matched him. EXO KILLING VOICE is NOT a good idea,because Kyungsoo (former EXO D.O.) refused to renew his contract with SM entertainment (his former agency), his one of the 3 main vocalists. of the group, but BUT his killing parts were all cutoff, so if you are interested in EXO no harm to watch, but after leaving SM there are so many great performances by him as a solo artist! All of his perfrmances were trending and lots of positive comments by vocal coaches, music critics and experts! Chase and Melia reaction about Kyungsoo is the best I have ever watched❤ he is multi-talented,and his fans are all so anxious for his 4th solo album! He is now busy filming his variety show and drama, and he completed his Asia fancons with huge success🎉 He will attend KMGA as a soloist! All the best for SOLO DOHKYUNGSOO❤
