Both are beautiful. I liked more the older one. Is more deep, more engaging. The second one sounds clean, but different, more non-personal. Nice sounds!

Interesting comment. I agree. In person, the old D-28 is very rich and powerful. I should make a better video with new strings on the old D-28. I bought it new in 1972. This is the 50th year I have owned it.

If you have a D-28 and a 000-18, that is pretty much all you need. I love my D-28, but I play the 000-18 the most because it is comfortable on the couch.

Wow - what a beautiful tone the Retro Lights strings produce. Nice pure, clear, light, open frequencies - especially on the higher notes. Though I could also see how some songs would be cozy on the softer, more muted tones of the D28 . :) Came expecting RV-news, stayed for the pure, light, high tones of the Monel Retro Lights, LOL! PS: What's the name of this tune? It's beautiful!
