It's really nice to see Marisa prevail against Reimu every once in a while. I mean, she kinda lost it after she summoned Yukari.

***** The Watatsukis can call down power from the Shinto gods. They basically kept countering Yukari's attacks until she got bored with the fight and surrendered. If Yukari REALLY wanted to, she could probably smear Toyohime and Yorihime across the floor like spray paint, but really, she doesn't care about ANYTHING enough to commit violence, except for Gensokyo's safety and Reimu's well-being. THOSE two things will get her motivated fast, and a motivated Yukari is the scariest thing in Gensokyo.

WatcherCCG Yukari only fully admits that two people are stronger than her, and that's Eiki Shiki and Watatsuki no Toyohime. So uh, yeah. Yukari is very strong and all, but for someone as powerful as Yukari to admit those two are stronger than her, they must be strong enough for you to notice the "gap" in power. Hahahaha.

WatcherCCG Also, in the case of Yorihime, she doesn't necessarily just call the power of Shinto Gods (like Reimu), she calls down the power of the Yamas . In other words, she's summoning the power of Eiki (and the other 9 judges).

ZXNova It's unclear in the original Japanese text whether Yukari meant Eiki was stronger than her, or if she was calling the yama pointless to argue with (which is most definitely true). And remember, Yukari was stalling for Yuyuko to loot the Lunar Royal Vault, not trying to fight seriously. We don't know anything for certain.

This is really MMD?! I usually don't exclaim things in this manner but this video is on such a completely different level to any attempt at making a touhou fight using MMD that it has left me in genuine awe. This is easily on the same level as the Utsuho dogfight. If I didn't have such a biased viewpoint I'd say that it is leaps and bounds above it, especially when it comes to some of the effects. It's also a really nice rendition of an actual danmaku fight to top everything off.

This video easily took months to complete and was done by someone who clearly used MMD a lot, and had a very good video editing program (or is just very skilled at video editing). MMD is definitely more than capable at producing videos like this, but only if the person behind it is patient enough to put in the work. Several kudos to Kiroro :D

My only gripe with this video is that the music seems a bit sloppy, mainly with the guitars. Everything else is spot on. The animation, the effects, the camerawork. Can't wait to see if he continues this!

To "some" extent, even in the Phantasm OVA's by Team Shanghai, Reimu is portrayed as the sort of character who is experienced, someone who's seen it all and wisened up, but also, gives little damn about the things which are transpiring, because of her experience. For someone with a job of having to keep things in balance, to judge things objectively as a shrine maiden, it's an important quality to have I believe; to have your experienced will, dictate what should happen next.

Actually, Mima was the final boss in the first Touhou STG which is Story of Eastern Wonderland, Marisa was the Stage 4 boss in that game.

That's because fans on both sides of the ocean tend to like portraying Reimu as a bitch when that's not really true and is kind of unfair to her position. As Hakurei Shrinemaiden she can't take sides with any one group or individual. Her job is to keep balance in Gensoukyo and to do that she needs to remain objective (like Dylan said), She couldn't rule out the possibility that Marisa caused the incident just because they're friends and really, Marisa didn't help at all in the canon convo.

One thing I could say, magnificent. I love the how they did with the animation. Looks brilliant and nice. Also, the music is very interesting. I wonder if there is a link to the music. Overall, this video is certainly worth it. Kudos to the people who did this excellent job. Wish they make Sakuya vs Youmu version though. Knives vs swords. Much more epic. :)

@Grodon94 It is, MMD, utsuho dogfight, is also MMD The effects are easily achieved with MME and a lot of plug-ins are available the color differs from other MMD videos could because of a diffusion effect and/or a shader.But even then, it's still hard to pull such a video off, it takes hard work to create the models and the effects.It's rare for MMD to be used for fights but animators who know their way around can do it.Most animations are so un-smoothed Kudos to this dude anyway

It's part of one of Yukari's spell cards: Zen Butterfly in the Buddhist temple. The symbol is a backwards Swastika which is the Buddhist symbol for peace. That symbol has existed far longer than the Fascists who took it for their own.

grimoire of Marisa Marisa states that its simply the power Reimu was born with, and has spellcards she never needed to use. Still Reimu created the spellcards system, so even the weak beings can stand a chance against strong ones, the main reason why Marisa can defeat Reimu
