what is the difference between Harai goshi and O guruma please?
@G0dspelronin2 жыл бұрын
O Guruma the uke falls over the leg in a wheel motion with the leg being the major fulcrum.. Harai goshi is like O Goshi but your outer leg assists in raising uke over the hip in a reaping motion. Hope that helps.

@@daviderusso1238 Very Welcome. Fulcrums are where the names change even though the throws are almost identical visually. Ashi guruma fits in with these visually similar throws

This is my favorite throw but I set it up differently… when they are pushing into me and I have an overhook grip on the arm, I enter for this throw and get it often… I actually broke a training partner’s collar bone recently because this is a huge throw when done right. Now I’m careful and only use it in competition or against experienced partners. Definitely break the crash pad out when drilling this! It’s a big fall and a lot of momentum if you do it right and they’re pushing into you hard.

I do this in BJJ all the time and man do some people crack the sads afterward. Huge throw, takes the wind right out of them.

Is this technique always done with a pivot step?
@haffoc3 жыл бұрын
no, it cam be done with a back step as well. You can find an example here. kzbin.info/www/bejne/q5vbnJ1seq-GmJI

he, Vince. Love your videos :) Because of the circular/wheeling nature of this throw the kawaishi entrance is favourable because of the dynamic you put into it. Though you can be easier countered
