I don't like what you do. I absolutely LOVE what you do. You make things so understandable and your technique is beautiful.

Makes me think oguruma is an interesting combination of tai otoshi, uchimata and harai goshi pieces brought together. ~10 years ago when I was fresh out of beginner class they started teaching us oguruma and I couldn't understand how someone weak like me could flip another man on the top of my straightened leg. I returned after a decade long break and my instructor has taught rather successfully tai otoshi, uchimata and harai goshi starting from the foundations of those throws, and watching this demonstration and explanation after that makes it seem really simple and easy.

the interesting thing about this throw is that much of the body mechanics is similar to Shohei Ono's spinning uchi mata. a couple points of similarity that I personally see between the two techniques: 1. the force to execute the kuzushi is created by the big backwards step and the pivoting motion at the beginning of the technique rather than upper body movements. 2. it's a bit hard to see, but the right elbow (collar grip) drives uke downwards during the throw. sleeve hand pulls uke's sleeve to tori's hip. I'm going to start learning this throw to better understand Ono's spinning uchi mata. from what I heard during his seminar, Ono said that he developed his signature spinning uchi mata because he kept on missing the entry while doing the regular uchi mata.

Great explanation. My 2,favorite throws I tried haraigohi for years but finally would up with “ the twins “ as I call them Would like an explanation on how to move from hiza gurma to ashi or O guruma Thought of hopping into it after kuzushi with hiza
