Thank you #2 I have watched and listened to you for years. I heard you give a shout out for the "thank you" person. They are saying what we are all thinking. Thank you so, so much
I’m pretty sure a random reading just means that the DM rolls a random result whether or not it actually applies to the question.

This. If you spam Augury, you start getting randomly determined results that are therefore possibly unreliable.

Oh please do a Tasha episode. She is one of my favorite of the "Greats" in D&D. I use a lot of the spells with her name on the front end. One of my favorites is Tasha's Caustic Brew.

Hey guys love your podcast. You guys were one of the reasons I got into DnD.
I playing a lvl 5 Wild Magic Barbarian for the moment. Your videos about the Goliath and Barbarian (the first two on the general class since this one wasn't out yet) helped me so much too in creating this character. Vaughan Dawnhand. Goliath. Sage background. Magic Initiate (Wizard) He was kidnapped to Waterdeep from his tribe as a young guy. He was forced to fight as a gladiator in an illegal arena. During a fight in the arena he absorbed the spell that was coming his way. Since then he had random Wild Magic Surges happening. So much so he was becoming a problem in the arena. One day rescue came. The City Guard and Order of Magisters raided the illegal arena. Vaughan was saved from certain death and taken in by the Order of Magisters. He learned to control his random Wild Magic Surges and focus them into his Rage. He also began to study magic, learned a few spells and began researching how and why he was affected by the Wild Magic.

I love in one Avengers episode where all the other Avengers get Hulked out, and hulk is helping Cap open a door by telling him “treat the door handle like an egg, treat everything like an egg”. Kind of a world of cardboard moment where you really get an idea of just how much self control he really has Also the Barbarian in Lodoss War who’s possessed by a rage demon, and it’s a really good ark going over his quest to manage it and be his better self

My first PC was a minotaur totem of the "bull". I used the minotaur video to pull some 4E lore and my minotaur was on a rumspringa into adulthood to control their chaotic rage or be lost to the trace of baphomet heritage.

I have a warforged Ancestral Barbarian/Fighter who I haven’t gotten the chance to use in game yet. Instead of having ancestor spirits, they call upon the spirits of their dead comrades who were killed in a massacre. Their rage is partially an “instant kill mode” type deal and partially triggered by allowing the wrath of the spirits to overcome them. They have objects that remind them of each of their fallen comrades, the most notable one being a torn jacket their best friend was killed in.

When you trigger the random chance of Augury, the DM basically rolls a D4 for some random result instead of the truth. So the spell could tell you that a given action leads to good results, although it's actually really bad. This can also happen to the Barbarian because the spell resets it's chance with a long rest and the Barbarian can cast it every short rest. A DM could make use of this when the party is running in some really harsh environment, like a jungle or frozen north. In those cases it's pretty common to make long rest into a random encounter and put some tough choices in front of the players. So it's tempting to use the spell for survival, but it's also pretty dangerous.

I have liked and commented! I continue to serve the almighty dungeoncast! Man I'm glad this first beholder is finished. I totally need to see the fan art of it.

I kind of wish the AD&D Barbarian came back. They could detect magic at will and to level up they could destroy a magic item and suck out the magic to gain experience. I was hoping that would become the final ability of the wild magic Barbarian. Like they could absorb a spell that has a duration longer than instantaneous and gain temp hp or a bonus to their attacks. I miss that flavor for OG Barbarians

Since the wild soul is heavily implied to be very close to the feywild a land of unbound emotions of all types we made my wild soul barb have intense mood swings instead of rages, like every time I rolled I secretly rolled a second die and that would be the emotion he would be experiencing and showing. Fear- "get away! I'm not scared!" *enemy moves a foot closer* *flails glaive while trying to get closer* Sadness- "I'm sorry I dont like doing this but you're hurting people I care about" *sobs uncontrollably while flailing glaive* Mild annoyance- "gods, I cant believe they need my help to deal with a weakling like you, let's get this over with so I can get back to like I dont know peeling potatoes?" *passively flails glaive while mumbling about how ready for dinner he is* Joy- *unable to stop laughing or constantly holding in snickering, think pyrovision from tf2* And so on and so forth.... thing is he sees the whole wild magic as a major curse and is constantly afraid of any overt display or feeling of any emotion of any kind could lead to him having a lazer shoot out his chest as he is in a cafe or other place filled with civilians, thus leading him to be emotionally stunted in every single way leading to it getting bottled up and flowing out uncontrollably. This was my changeling wild soul barb one of the most chaotic characters I've ever had and so glad to see the class get some lime light is I guess what I am saying.... wow this went on a lot longer than first intended... sorry

It’s a Beholder with the Gold Dragon reality warp illusion??? Woe, always woe... it’s all bad. The Beholder is always maniacally paranoid, so it’s not even the Gold Dragon’s, “don’t do this... it doesn’t end well for you.” It’s just always the Beholder’s worst case scenario and his calculated reactionary plan that’s probably waayyy overcompensated... ha
