I agree with you: the ranger has excellent roots in literature and legend, but the excellence never quite came through in earlier versions. I really like what you've done with it here. Same for the monk, which never interested me too much before. This monk looks really fun.

Thank you. And feel free to tell me what you miss from the litterature rangers in RPGs. I am sure it is great inspiration 😉

First: you could use tables to remove a lot of unneeded text, specifically in the description of the wild shape ability for the druid, instead of repeating "the druid can use wild shape..." over and over again. Second: Its not that I want to discourage you in your endeavor here, quite the opposite, as I think everyone should make a hack of the game at some point, for a variety of reasons, but I have a general "this is doomed to fail" feeling from watching these videos. This leads me to ask: Do the rules which you are choosing to include support the kind of game you want to run? Because, in my mind, 3.5e/pathfinder is a very confused game, not because of bad rules, but because of a vast quantity of rules for multiple genres of play. It is clear that you are trying to clean up unnecessary rules, but, for the sake of not wasting your own time, do you know what genre of game you wish to create out of this? To me, it is unclear what kind of gameplay these rules support. My own pedantry notwithstanding, Good Luck!

Thanks for your insights. I think I have a good idea of the game I am making. It is a medieval fantasy RPG centered around mainly European folklore. It borrows elements from a wider global mythology, and is supposed to aid in the telling of the stories of lowly heroes as well as the leaders they eventually become. It is supposed to be a solid dungeon crawler, but also lend it self to wilderness and urban exploration. It is generic enough to accommodate different campaign settings that share the above premise. But it is not meant to be a fantasy superhero game. It is not a horror game, or a game of mass combat.
