I know the majority of this channel's viewers are english speakers, but i'm going to use our mother tongue for a second here: Antonio, no puedo expresar apenas con palabras la absoluta bendición que eres para la comunidad de DnD. The implication is that the first generation of most creatures were designed by a god, but then said god gave them reproductive organs, so every subsequent version of the beast is more like a mass-produced version of the original design. Titans are like special projects that gods make by hand, rather than relying on the reproductive system

I’ve run a few large monsters against my players, but not kraken yet. Biggest aquatic monster used so far is the massive aquatic variant of a blue dragon, unless you count the reanimated corpse of a titan that happened to be in the ocean. Kraken me, Pointy and friends!
@LordCrate-du8zm6 ай бұрын
A reanimated sea-Titan is such an unbelievably metal concept. I need to hear the story behind this.
@TheIronarm6 ай бұрын
Super proud of this enemy. Part of my world’s (Disney music cue) lore is an offshoot of Greek mythology, with the Olympians being worshipped and the titans being jerks, and an early baddie was a previously unknown son of Uranus thinking he’d get an easy victory and rule the world (probably justified since he was about a thousand feet tall), but he severely underestimated the tenacity of the heroes and the strength of the magic. All he got for his trouble was a dagger infused with the purest manifestation of death shoved up his nose into his brain which instantly killed the supposedly unkillable titan, and he fell into the northern sea to fester and rot for an eon. Cut to about a dozen millennia later, a new huge baddie is about to destroy the world, and the new heroes can only come up with one solution, the same death dagger still lodged in the titans brain cavity. Despite carefully planning the underwater expedition, the moment they removed the dagger the desiccated corpse started thrashing around and threatened all of civilization from tidal waves alone. After many deaths of their NPC minions and all but one of their ships shattered, they had to systematically dismember it bone by bone to keep it from regenerating fully and win without giving up the dagger again. Tartarus was able to get a much needed renovation from the bones, and the heroes were able to turn around and defeat the darker foe. The titan kinda had a water attack but technically more necrotic than aquatic, so don’t think he counts as a kraken…

Fun Fact on the inconsistent look of Krakens: That's because they're known for augmenting themselves magically and alchemically to suit their own wants and desires. The default octopus look is actually how they look while young, before modifying themselves. Honestly, in addition to other modifications, Krakens should be one of those monsters that has like 3-4 tables for extra abilities it has. Not only to buff them but to make them distinct from other Krakens. Here's just some ideas for some of those abilities: -A Polymorph Form to appear as a Humanoid, akin to a Dragon. -A Hypnotic effect across there body akin to some Cephalopods -A Poison Effect on it's Tentacles similar to some deep sea fish or sea anemones -A Telepathic Network ability letting it guide and control it's minions far easier. -A Shell that's a mix of a Turtle Shell and Coral providing them both higher AC and some added coral powers I could go on but that's probably enough

Dude… okay, this is super sick! So gonna be looking into this stuff! I once actually tried my hand at making an entire underwater campaign setting with a ton of custom character options and a whole adventure based in some part around resurrecting Sardior from her heart at the core of the world, I did not get very far with the idea, but it definitely was an intriguing concept I might return to. It’s cool to see this sort of thing happening! Underwater stuff in D&D is one of those insanely overlooked things that deserves more spotlight, I’m so glad Kraken Week is making this more of a thing! Maybe someday I’ll be able to be a part of this too! (Or maybe something for the elemental or outer planes because why not?) Keep the awesomeness coming! I can’t wait for what’s next!

After finally managing to play your Feywild adventure yesterday, there's a whole new adventure the same day we finish the other one xD amazing timing, guess I gotta get to preparing again.
