Honestly same happened to one of my characters who is similar to Erena but not the same. Both are magical girls though mine is a sailor moon reference (though her outfit is tuxedo mask) so she's a kinda and brainy girl but can be airheaded at times and a cry baby (her class was arcanist). Her mother is killed by a naga who manages to escape (this person also temporarily killed her fiance) Melitta (the character's name) is normally a pacifist and doesn't actually like killing or fighting but does to help protect others. This was the first time and so far only time she wanted to kill someone. We fight with the naga again. Melitta ends up accidentally face to face with her mother's killer in melee. Melitta uses genie form turning into an efreeti and long story short after a lot of hits and hits taken manages to slice the naga in half with a critical blow last hit from her scimitar while it was lit a blaze with fire

I think the most probable way of him dying was that when he was fighting eyes (I think it was eyes) the knifes were poisoned with the heart stopping poison. When the knife stabbed his foot the poison could have enter his body, killing him.

I find the whole thing about Erina losing herself in the violence to be kind of out of place because like, Abby should know what kind of people the party are. This is a perfectly normal Erina thing to do. Like Dingo said much earlier in the series, the party's actions are chaotic good at best.

I for one think it would be funnier if sips if someone stays there but as a ghost and sneezes the only one who can see him because of the contact we made in the dark soul gem or even better sips gets reborn into the body of one of the guards (which are most likely dead) outside the castle and no longer has his curse but he somehow still has wild magic and he still has all the memories that the attitude and he rejoins the party in his new body in fact I might make a fanfiction of this just so I can read that
