I like this one. Necromancer vibes without the stigma. Not that I care a lot about that, in fact my favorite group in AL play has a goodie two shoes type paladin player and we have fun playing total opposites.

Done right I really enjoy party frictions. It adds a little spice, maybe a rivalry! That stuff is always gold

Those are very powerful abilities especially the shared vitality reflection power . If this becomes popular the opposition would use options like 100 very well dispersed first level archers ,with +1 or better arrows ,constructs .,or undead .

I love that counter balance. What specifically do you feel is really powerful, and 2ndly do you feel like this subclass fits your idea for a blood magic spell caster?

This is probably my 4th favorite wizard subclass with War mage at 3, bladesinger at 2 and order of scribes at 1 but that's just my opinion

Very mechanically, I'd go Hill Dwarf & Origin Feat: Tough, and prioritize CON. Combo Arcanist's Magic Aura to make myself appear undead to Spells with the Spell: Negative Energy Flood for 5d12 THP.

I really think emphasis on con is paramount in a blood themed caster

I can absolutely see that as well I just feel like we need more hex’s or spells that are curses or even abilities

Very cool idea. Hill Dwarf + tough feat = super beefy caster.

@@michaelmuirhead910 I think it just works so well for this particular caster to have a lot of durability, though I’d be hard pressed to drop out of con at all levels

I like the hemocraft classes in concept but man most of the class features can down you if ya roll bad, had a bloodhunter and a blood wizard at my table down themselves to use the empowerment features and the party ended up getting dropped because they lost the aoe and martial dps

YES!!! lol that’s great! How did your player enjoy being a blood wizard have they played wizards before

@@TheSinisterheroes they main wizards and thought it was fun but hella dangerous. He also enjoyed the abilities his only gripe was the damage from the spell component thing a few times it just took him from full to zero
