Would you believe it's a couple of years and still no one has a video with clear instructions as this. I don't know how much appreciation I can show on this video. Please do more tutorials because your video sir is the only one available with clear step by step instructions. Thank you very much.

Nice vid brother.. Suggestion., Purchase a swivel and long extension for your ratchet.. You can then come at those plugs from above the air box with much more clearance 🙏🏻🤜🏻🤛🏻
@pohlcat014 жыл бұрын
nice video, thanks. But... "just put a little torque on them" ?? if you get a plug too tight, it may never come out... Spark plug torque from the manual: 13 Nm (1.3 m·kg, 9.6 ft·lb) From NGK's website" Torque is critical in the plug’s ability to dissipate heat and perform properly. Always follow the manufacturer’s recommended torque specification. An under-torqued spark plug can lead to excessive vibration and improper heat dissipation, causing spark plug and/or engine damage. An over-torqued spark plug may cause thread damage or breakage, or compromise internal seals within the spark plug, leading to improper heat dissipation or exhaust gas blow-by.
@toddy91414 жыл бұрын
Torque or just hand tighten, then 1/4turn of the ratchet....no anti seize on the threads either 😉

Never mind, coil spec is 5 to 6.8 k ohm. I just tested them by putting plugs in packs, lay on engine, and hit start button. Easier way to check/change plugs - Remove 3 radiator bolts, 2 rectifier bolts, and 1 (left) radiator hose clamp. Pull radiator down and forward. More access to plugs and faster. (Put pan under radiator to catch coolant.)

I know this maybe a stretch as this is a 7yr old comment, but I'm intrigued by your thpught process on the easy wat to do this as I'm not that mechanically minded and don't want to take the tank off to get to the coiks/plugs. But the radiator route I could mange if it is infact easier, don't suppose you have an image of said bolts and clamp. Thanks.

Your block offs are technically on backwards. The cut out on the plates on the underside should go over the two screw posts coming up. But I guess as long as they sit flush 🤷♂️

Hi Pedro! May i ask why did you removed the bracket and installed the plates? My r6 has a power commander and deleted the cat box as well. Can i do the same to mine since i am about to take the bracket out to get to the coils and spark plugs.

I did it to help from a lot of back fire/ popping from the exhaust when letting off the throttle. Since I had a straight pipe exhaust system at the time. Hope this helps!

Thx for the video. Did you have an empty tank? or how did you manage to remove it without getting all the gas coming out? I didn't see anywhere that he closed the gas pipe... Anyone noticed it?
@walman898 жыл бұрын
I removed it once I didn't have much gas in the tank. Once the hose Is disconnected that is attached to the fuel rail, you'll get a little spill, which I used a dirty rag to catch with.

what the point of the block off plates?
@walman897 жыл бұрын
The air induction system (AIS) burns unburned exhaust gases by injecting fresh air (secondary air) into the exhaust port, reducing the emission of hydrocarbons. Once these are capped off the air injection system can be safely removed. These Smog Block Off Plates are made from CNC'ed billet aluminum and feature the Graves Motorsports "G" logo. There are three reasons why you want to remove the air injection system from your bike. -From graves motorsports website.
@jgaama7 жыл бұрын
Installing them will give you a more accurate air to fuel ratio which comes in handy when you get a PCV. They will also eliminate the back pop you can get from your exhaust.
@jgaama7 жыл бұрын
Didn't answer his question....
@Panchdara6 жыл бұрын
Commonly called "pair valve" (based on Honda motors). What it does is inject fresh air into the exhaust after the exhaust valves. The exhaust is hot enough to "reburn" the unburnt fuel. Essentially it's an emission requirement. Removing the pair valve will do absolutely nothing to performance, rather, it will reduce that nice crackling when backing off. I took mine off but quickly put them back as I noticed the crackling missing on backoff. Not sure what affect happens if removed using cat converter. The effect of removing (blanking) them is to have a more "muffled/softer" rolloff of the throttle.
