Over and over again. Dred v Scott. And even further back. It’s time to face it. Their racist views are convenient to their way of life. Imagine if there was no oppression for us in this country, and we could compete without facing this same issue. Too scary, so things will remain this way until TMH says differently. It won’t be long Zion. Look to Him.

I am a white person who just started this book. I will admit that yes, it is funny, but it is so sad. It makes me mad. Growing up with black people and having a half Hispanic father who could pass as white in the winter but not in the summer, cause he tanned. I have lived around this fear. I also learned when I was young I could not tell a person of color how to act around white people cause I have white skin and can get away with what they can't. I am 59 by the way. I refer white people I know and or met to DL so they can get educated.

What are the lyrics to The Star-Spangled Banner? Oh, say can you see by the dawn’s early light What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming? Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight, O’er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming? And the rocket’s red glare, the bombs bursting in air, Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there. Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave? On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep, Where the foe’s haughty host in dread silence reposes, What is that which the breeze, o’er the towering steep, As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses? Now it catches the gleam of the morning’s first beam, In full glory reflected now shines in the stream: ‘Tis the star-spangled banner! Oh long may it wave O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave! And where is that band who so vauntingly swore That the havoc of war and the battle’s confusion, A home and a country should leave us no more! Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps’ pollution. No refuge could save the hireling and slave From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave: And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave! Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand Between their loved home and the war’s desolation! Blest with victory and peace, may the heav’n rescued land Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation. Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just, And this be our motto: “In God is our trust.” And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

@firstptr3and10_5 жыл бұрын
It would be a shame if you called the police because your neighbors were cutting up at 4am being all loud, then the police come and say there was a warrant out for your arrest for a parking ticket you got two yrs ago that you had forgot about. They not going to make apologies. They gonna say... "you have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can be used against you in a court of law. If you want an attorney but cannot afford one, an attorney will be provided for you. You are now under arrest." oh boy. Then you gonna say "hands up dont shoot"... then somebody gonna have to call Rev. Sharpton. So dont do it. Instead, joke with the neighbors the next day and tell them the next time there is a party at 4 am in the street dont forget to invite you. lol

"...Call my father..." - Unfortunately, that is not going to work. Why? Many White police officers will take that as being "smart mouth"; arrest you for not complying; and, while arresting you wrestle you to the ground when arresting you for "resisting arrest". So telling your son to "Call Your Father" will only fuel an already deadly situation. May I suggest to D.L. Hughley to give his son a special signed note to be placed in his wallet specifically addressed with the title, "TO THE POLICE", about the mental condition of his son. Unless that happens, his son will be in mortal danger when he does encounter the police.

Your message can be so powerful, but your need to mock homosexuality takes away from it. An advocate for black people are going to advocate for everyone in their community. I don’t agree with most straight black men because of their bigotry, but I love them and support them because they’re apart of my community. My father is a black man. I can’t not stand fit and love black men. We have to make it personal and learn to give a damn. Even when we don’t understand

Doesn't work for all of us. Sorry! You want to believe otherwise, but it isn't so. I have never had any bad trouble with the law. Had a car accident once and the white girl driving the other car had to step in and tell the white male cop that i was indeed a student at the local college because she had seen me going to classes with HER in the SAME building! I know you want to believe it is that simple, but it's not. I was grown before this happened and it shocked and hurt me but it is real. It also happened to me in Georgia because that cop told me to my face that my car looked like something was wrong. I ended up paying a fine and having a probation officer and paying a large amount of money to get my car back. I had moved to Georgia for a better life. I wish life was as great for everyone else as it must be for you. Those two events taught me otherwise. It hurts and the memory lingers. You move on but your mind remembers the hurt. Sorry, it happens. I came back to add for you all that I have only had two speeding tickets and these two car incidents. The second one was because the cop said that it was odd that I had one window up in the summertime and that my back passenger light was out. He lied. I followed my mom's advice paid the fees and moved on but the hurt doesn't leave you so easily. I wish it would.
