So cool to see the perspective of the Japanese defenders in the MG bunkers. Especially with the manual crank for opening and closing the porthole against incoming fire @7:01. You don’t see that in Flags of our fathers or the Pacific.

Well… same here but, I’m finding more & more that I really appreciate it. While there’s an absolute deluge of information on the Wehrmacht in WW2, it’s just not there for Imperial Japan. So much of it is all the same footage, over & over. If you want to see some excellent, actual footage & domestic news footage from Japan (like their version of Die Deutsche Wochenschau), with actual sound & interviews!!! - go check out this guy’s channel & scroll down through the list of videos. He’s got some really great stuff. Also, on the German front, while the narration needs some help, there’s a guy I subscribe to (Military1945) that has incredible original source material from the Wehrmacht & SS and actually follows the original situational maps of certain units and letters from the soldiers on the Eastern Front. Again, great stuff!
It's tank of the unknown design but due to tank tower slightly matches to IS . IS are heavy tank. T-34 medium, and BT are light. BT's armor are antirifle, it can easily penetrate by heavy MG. But is are strongly armored, even some antitank guns are was unable to penetrate it's armor. So there is some movie fiction. To be honest the movie are not about war as itself. It's about human relations in closed place near the Death. Technically it a Disaster movie. For such genre screenplay are superb.

Manchukuo. Russians vs Japanese. Russian Tanks would have been BT 26 Series most commonly with an occasional T-34/76. Japanese (or any nationality’s) Heavy Machine Gun would not destroy these types of Tanks but could get an occasional mobility kill through vision slits, radiator cooling louvers or other hull openings. This clip is taking advantage of “artistic license “ in regard to destroying the Tanks in that manner although it’s interesting to see an actual Japanese HMG used in the movie too.

Huh? Russia? I think you're confused. in WW2 there's no Russia, Russia was killed when bolsheviks perpetrated the illegitimate coup d'etat, murdered the royal family, mass persecuted and murdered many Russians who opposed the red disease. The red army and the communist party weren't Russia, they were the enemies of Russia, and used russians as meat shields and disposable meat to be sacrificed, they were nothing more than slaves serving the enemy of Russia that was illegitimately occupying Russia Just like the ccp and PRC now aren't China. Or the communist regime in North Korea isn't Korea. They're all illegitimate regimes and parasites

A disaster for the Kwantung army, when some of the Berlin war veterans of the soviet army deployed to the far east in an operation to attack Manchuria Katyusa and T-34/85 not match to japanese light tank Ha-Go or japanese pillbox Banzai spirit not enough to hold soviet offensive I cant imagine..
It's basically. The Soviet tactics were to suppress the Japanese bunker group with heavy fire and throw a large number of smoke grenades, so that the Soviet soldiers could use flamethrowers or anti-tank grenades to solve the bunker after approaching the bunker. In open areas, the Soviets fired directly at close range with tanks or used flamethrowing devices against Japanese bunkers. At that time, the Japanese army lacked effective anti-armor weapons. So it basically belongs to the unilateral rolling.
The Soviet Union dealt with the Kwantung Army like a quick knife to cut butter.😏😏

such a shame that they didn't get to face well trained and fierce Imperial soldiers.

@@lennyelsam5366 Is it? You seem to have forgotten the Battle of Khalkhin gol 1939. At that time, the Kwantung Army was the most elite in the Japanese army. They are still beaten by Zhukov and lost his armor.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 After that, the Japanese military did not dare to invade the Far East of the Soviet Union, even when Hitler's troops came to Moscow outskirts.
