Shoutout to judge Dan for the breakdowns for all of the eliminations. It was amazing to see the judge POV for every elimination, and it shows you the difference between raw audio and then the audio from the videos themselves. You and the other judges did a great job and Rivers elimination got stuck in my head, it's so catchy and it's a well deserved first place.

Already watched River's solo elim like 6 times. What an incredible showing and fantastic song he gave us. Been waiting to hear your notes! River and Napom to the top!!! Edit: With your review in mind it's so interesting you'd already seen this piece and it STILL felt refreshing due to the lack of 2 minute switch. You would think that this being a piece you'd heard before would make it less interesting and easier to judge on its merits alone (which he still did phenomenally) but your idea that judging needs to have bias is so accurate for this. I think he and Napom have the longevity bias behind them as well as the skill and unique style in their elims to make it an easy 1st and 2nd place. Battles, here we come!!!

Everyone else seemed to struggle with accuracy to some degree, live stage sound challenge, but obviously an experienced singer he feels it and doesn't have to rely on foldback so much. Either that or he slipped the monitor engineer a bribe.. When it's this accurate it essentially transcends beatbox and becomes just sublime music beyond limits. I was more impressed than I expected, even with pre knowledge

imo River has the most identifying style in the scene, and is also the most accomplished all around artist in the beatbox scene. His singing background really brings A LOT of perspective to the art of beatbox and I LOVE IT. Pitch, rhythm, technique, identity, he brings it all together. If you look back to all dlows comments, they have score-card, all the judges has it own scoring, the thing is, i dont think every judges has the same critical mind as d-low's, even d-lows vote napom at the end. So, it's not about 2 french judges but also critical mind judges

Im not Dlow but imo, he would score high on technicality, musicality but low or none for originality. Lots of beatboxers spend years just to make the beat doesnt sounds like anybody else. You can argue that someone may be able to replicate the same beat as Napom but is there anybody else that can come out with a routine that sounds like Napom

You can say that for nearly any beatboxer. Codfish is arguably the easiest modern GBB champion to copy. Yet, you wouldn't say ANYONE would score the same with his beats. Because there is something called Aura and Delivery. I know that sounds arbitrary. But you know exactly what I'm on about. If you don't believe the piece and don't fall into the realm that the beatboxer is dragging you into then it won't hit as hard.

@@northover6015 Thanks for your thoughts guys. I think you guys misunderstood a bit because of my bad english. I have a lot of respect for Napom. He is a legend for sure. He deserves to be here ofc. But when I saw the reaction of the judges (especially Gene's) I came up with this question. I think they overreacted a lot. I've never seen Gene raise his arms and have so much fun in any other beatboxer. This does not seem right to me from a judging perspective, the feeling of "a jury is supporting a side" may affect other beatboxers negatively. And for example, the line "i am iron man" maybe would sound cringe and maybe a negative point for judging if anybody else did it, but the judges laughed a lot when Napom did it.

Napom should have won. Just like bizkit should have won the loop again. But the judges dont like repeat winners. They also feel super bad for the year befores runner up.
