I'm not defending it nor am I agreeing with it, but honestly what incentive does Boots have to fight Vergil right now? They're both too big for 47 it appears and fighting at 54 will have no belts on the line at all. Boots having the IBF at 147 would all but guarantee at least a title shot for the IBF 154 belt. It may very well be duck but I can understand from that perspective if that's the case. Maybe he'd rather wait until they both have titles for a bigger matchup down the line. Bud, fresh off a career defining beat down on Errol Spence, combined with the fact that he is in his boxing twilight years, from his perspective, it made no sense whatever to fight that hungry lion. We the fans would love that fight no question but if you're his manager or anyone close to him, I would think they'd all advise against it, maybe just not publicly. Canelo, same thing with the Mexican Monster, that's a quacking Duck if I ever seen one (from the perspective of someone who just loves boxing) but I totally understand from his viewpoint. Kinda the same with Loma as well with Tank.
