It’s mad in the UK, we have Hitachi trains, they all look the same. But in Japan, each Shinkansen looks different

I'm curious as to what the expectations are for HS2 in the UK.

@@Tetsudo_daccha unfortunately, it’s gonna turn out to be one of the most expensive railways in history, the trains are already too expensive. They’re only going to get even more expensive once HS2 is completed.

Is that so. Thank you.

even in japan, the batches they introduce at one particular time is only one model (except this line which needs some to be mini-Shinkansen) some of the trains in the video were designed all the way back in 1995, so it's not like they had variation from the beginning. hopefully HS2 will prosper then it should end up having multiple models running together
What speed do they go at ? Because of the bends just before the stations surely not 300 km/hr? Or do they? Magnificent! I rode the shinkansen in 2009 with my niece between Tokyo and Osaka

The maximum speed between Tokyo and Osaka is 285km/h. The maximum speed of this video is 320km/h at Nasushiobara Station on the Tohoku Shinkansen.

I wish we would get some railway upgrades here in sweden. The trains here only go 200 km/h and the new government has basically cancelled the new high speed line.

I wish the USA had high speed trains like Japan does.
