I love these videos, it always amazes me that you can get so close to something that moves like this

You CAN'T there is a wall between you & the platform edge some metres away. You have to wait for the gates to open after the train has stopped to get onto the actual platform. Otherwise you would be likely to get sucked off the platform by the vacuum created. NEVER GO NEAR PLATFORM EDGES ON ANY RAILWAY.

Great video. Thank you for posting so others can enjoy.
今年3月は、恋人と日本に行きましたいっぱい東北の新幹線が乗りました。全時は三週です。ちゃんと少し懐かしの思いが戻り出した。動画をありがとございました。 I miss Japan so much and the trains were one of the most memorable - I hope that I get the chance to ride their amazing MagLev system when it's finished! ps - sorry for my awful japanese, I'm still learning. Many thanks from England :)

Just go to China. Their trains are better and faster.
Thanks for posting this. These trains are so cool. I rode the Shinkansen between Tokyo Shinagawa and Mishima and back during a trip to Japan in 2017 and was amazed at how smooth the ride is. It's nowhere near as eventful as seeing one from the outside. I'll be back in Japan later this year and will be taking the Shinkansen from Tokyo to Osaka. I'm already looking forward to it.

What a shame that here in the United States of America, these technical modern marvels of transportation dosent exsist. You know, the country that walked on the moon still can't figure out trains. Eventhough the California highspeed rail project is underway, it's still nowhere near done and the project is hanging on by a thread it seems. The United States government should put up the 125 billion dollars to complete the entire endeavor. I make the 831 mile trip from Lancaster Pennsylvania to Jacksonville Florida 3 times a year. It takes me 11.5 to 12.5 hours to drive there, through the night. Thats an additional 1 or 2 hours by EV.... But, If the mighty United States of America would build, (The United States Atlantic Bullet Line), i could board in Philadelphia Pennsylvania and be in Jacksonville Florida in about 4 to 6 hours. You damn right i would park my car and take the train!! These would be trains that runs between Boston Massachusetts and Jacksonville Florida stopping in one city in each state it travels through. You could move millions of americans up and down the entire United States Eastern seaboard with great comfort and at speeds of up to 200 to 225 mph and not a ripple on your martinis. This is something the mighty United States of America should of had decades ago and yet the American people criticize it because they are to ignorant, blind and filled with stupidity to understand the benefits. Complaining about cost in building tains like this yet not seeing the trillions wasted on absolutely nothing. It would cost about 500 billion dollars to build the United States Atlantic bullet line from Boston Massachusetts to Jacksonville Florida yet they rather spend 600 billion dollars to put some fool on mars which would benefit absolutely no one except for the fool going there! Remember all the money the United States government gave away in stimulus packages during the pandemic? This cost the government over 7 trillion dollars, 7 trillion dollars!!! (Gave it away)!! Not to mention other misused money. We rather sit stranded at airports due to cancellations and delays during the holidays and travel seasons year after year, or travel congested highways. Hopefully one day the United States of America will finally, finally! Wake up to the benefits and rewarding results of acquiring bullet train technology. Hats off to the far more advanced countries of the far east and Europe. Highspeed bullet trains and maglev super train technology, the new american dream......

@@carlsmith5545 Having travelled on the Acela in the US, I can understand some of your frustration. I live in the Netherlands. Our national experience with high-speed rail is a mixed bag, but there are decent connections to high-speed networks in Germany and France. I wouldn't even consider flying when going to Germany or, say, Paris.

@@RalphSavelsberg yeah but here in the so called mighty United States, Americans are to stupid to aquire such an advanced mode of transportation. They have no clue. Atleast you have the experience. Im going to Japan once the cho Shinkansen maglev super train is completed to be one of the few americans to experience this....

What a great video!! checking with the fps i get the same speed like in the video discribed. For example the Shinkansen H5 or E5 is 253m long and @2:29 it is passing in 2,8 secundes. You get 253m/2,83s = 89,4 m/s (322 km/h).

It amazes me how far Japan has come with the development of their Shinkansen. I rode the original back in 1976. I like that Japan has relied on electrification of their train lines. the US has gone with diesel mostly. Anyways, keep going. Good videos. Thanks.

Diesel in France is like steam machines for us. But diesel traction is still there where we don't have electrification of certain lines. Anyway, it's very expensive to get power on a line and Usa is too vast to get their lines electrified. But electricity can get the fastest train in the world as 320 km/h is already as much as we can go on a normal rail. It's like 200 miles per hour for the TGV. Diesel traction have less power and are new machines and are smaller but they are still needed .

On your suggestion, I used my JR pass to visit the Mizusawa-Esashi station and experienced this powerful Shinkansen. It was totally worth it. It took me 30 mins from Sendai
