+gato chen I have the original cassette also. I try to find others on the same label such as the bow dance and pipa solo but cannot find them.

I don't understand very well on what you mentioned and pipa solo, is it ? The music was created for pipa. The most Chinese music of 1970-1985 in Taiwan was in the form of cassette, that was not original, but duplicated by 沙鷗唱片行, with the cover page of yellow or brown. Please give me more information, maybe i can help you to find it out.

@@canman5060I know 《bow dance》 is 弓舞,now you can easily find it in KZbin 。
Still one of my favourite orchestral pieces. One really feels like on a beautiful buuterfly-like junk sailing in the East China sea. Thank you.

+Klaus Klausen Also I can remember in my growing up years in Hong Kong in the old days this is one of the favourite background music of the many black and white martial arts (Wuxia) movies in the 1960's.

+Lar M Yes, it is, and certainly some similarity to Bruckner, I agree. I love many Chinese movies such as King Hu's movies, Chinese Ghost story and the music movie Liu San Jie. Hong Kong is my most favourite city, excitig and beautiful, though I think it has lost some of its spirit in the wake of globalization. My first acquaintance with Chinese music was by a record from HK about 1976 (a tape copy); I never found out what the title of the record was and whether it is digitized somewhere. Best, Klaus

The opening of this great Chinese orchestral work is very similar to some of the opening of Anton Bruckner's symphonies.
Superbe !!! Encore merci pour cet instant d'intenses émotions !!!!

I can not believe how open and democratic Taiwan has now become. I still remember when I was in National Taiwan University, a good friend of mine loved to play flute using songs from China. For a few times, he and I has to hide in a friend's home to listen to some Chinese folk music. Now, after so many years, I could hear from KZbin the Taiwan orchestra playing the Yellow River piano concerto which includes even the melody of the East is Red. This is really unthinkable.

This work can be re-worked on western orchestral arrangement and popularise the rest of the world.

Lar M but the sound of the erhu really is unique. Sure there is a violin part, but erhu is different
@canman50609 жыл бұрын
gk10002000 This could be a little difficult . Maybe there is a solution to it.
@dbadagna9 жыл бұрын
+Lar M The solution is that the rest of the world learns the erhu. The violin of Europe is no more universal than the erhu of China.
@canman50609 жыл бұрын
+dbadagna Most western orchestra nowadays know not only about the erhu but the many different made of erhu. Erhu is quite unique.It has its origin from the ancient barbarians. I can some some string musical instruments around the middle east and central Asia bare some resemblance to erhu.I study the violin myself but I find erhu is relatively easier for fresh beginners.We have the pleasure of not having it on our shoulders for the start and it is quite a blessing.
