@@st4r444 Yeah so it's Hmong clothes LOL. I am Hmong and we literally wear those clothes. China calls us Miao we call ourselves Hmong outside of China. It's more proper to say Hmong clothes because not all Miao wear this kind of clothing, only Hmong people wear this clothing! Now though not all the clothes in here are Hmong clothes bc this video represents other ethnic groups.

@@st4r444 Yes I know. My parents are Hmong people from Laos and we can still speak and understand western Miao language. Western Miao people call themselves "Hmong". Our most famous singer Mim Haam comes from there. I'd prefer Hmong instead of Miao. Because not all Miao people are Hmong people.

@@exoteeb9204 I think it's better understand it in this way: Han Shanghainese call themselves Heu, Han Cantonese call themselves Hon, Han from Chaoshan call themselves Hang, Han from Suzhou call themselves Hoe, Han from Weitou is Fung. All of these Hang、Heu、Hon、Hoe、Fung...etc are written as 汉 ("han" in Mandarin). This applies to Hmong too , one same word has various pronunciation due to dialect differences. There're Hmong、Mong、Meng、Hmu、Hme、Miao、Mao..etc, they all written as 苗 in Chinese character. "miao" is only the pronunciation of standard Mandarin. In conclusion, all Heu are Han, all Hung are Fung, all Fung are Suav( what Hmong calls Han) all Hmongs are Hmu, all Hmu are Miao.

Here's the translation (sorry if it's incorrect): Waiting for you, I have waited for so long The flowers have forgotten to bloom, I don’t see you turning around How many tears have fallen, missing you every day and night? Gazing, longing and worrying for you Having thought about you and I for a long time Once again Spring and Autumn comes and goes, flying away Every day and night protecting your gentleness I don’t know when I can be together with you Always in silence thinking of you Holding onto your heart The clouds in the heavens wander around carelessly You should know of my worries Always in silence loving you I will never let go until the end of time No matter what happens tomorrow or how long the road is I would rather wait for you

First of all, beautiful song and enjoy the music everyone~~ Here, I want to clarify some controversies in comments area, just for the viewers who haven’t been to China yet. The main purpose of this mv is NOT about Miao/Hmong, even the meaning of the lyrics is NOT. So please do not misleading by some comments below the mv. Actually, this is a city promotional video of a beautiful city in Sichuan Province, China, Name Yibin(宜宾). ---Note: The name “Yinbin" shows on the bottom right side at beginning of the video and in the centre of the screen when mv ends. And “YOU” in the lyric is using the personification method, comparing hometown Yinbin to a missed person (seems like a loved girl in mv). Correct me if I am wrong :p--- All the beautiful sceneries in the video are from certain places or landmarks in city, Yinbin, such as the Global Geopark “Xingwen Stone Forest”. When a significant landmark appears, its name will be displayed on the top right side of the screen, unfortunately only in Chinese. And the people in the video represent all kinds of local people in Yinbin area, not only Miao/Hmong or Han. Actually, excluding Han, there are 24!!! ethnic groups/minorities in Yibin area. Not only Miao/Hmong, but also Yi/Lolo people(彝族) and Hui people(回族) are the THREE native ethnic groups which living in this area for generations. Just like Han, all of those 24 ethnic groups have their own amazing cultures, I swear!!! This is China :D~

BTW, in China, there are lots of similar videos like this, created for different cities/towns/village across the country. They constantly appear on TV, internet, even magazines and newspapers. Most of them are founded by local governments for tourism promotional purpose. Since China is so big, even a native Chinese cannot point out all the historical and cultural cities and natural landmarks in China. And nowadays for Chinese people, things have been changed from the past. 'Tavel' become a major popular trend across country, and travellers keep on searching for new beautiful places to visit. Due to economic effect by this trend, local governments put a lot of efforts on these city videos to introduce themselves, especially some beautiful small towns but located in little known place far from developed urban cities.

Christine, I don’t think you understand Hmong people and know what they’re saying on the comment here. They’re just saying they miss their country where us Hmong people once use to live in China. It has nothing to do with you thinking that this song and Video has to do with Hmong/Miao people I just want you to understand. Just cause you don’t understand that don’t mean you start writing saying your shit and giving us a stupid presentation.
