I was born in 1961, between 1963 and with only a few years of Edward Heath, we had Labour governments, until Thatcher and Major. The Tories have been in power longer in my lifetime, than Labour, after Blair and Brown, because we got Cameron and his coalition, then the current, getting increasingly worse Tory governments.

88 child here, I lived through the labour years (went to school during the 90s and early 00s), honestly, best government of my lifetime. The tories have utterly destroyed every single thing they could get their hands on since they came to power. I really hope it's finally time to remove them and hopefully for good but then this is the country that shot itself in the foot with Brexit. Ignore the people that will undoubtebly say "you dont know how bad labour will be". Just remember to vote, to get your friends to register and vote, this is probably out single chance to actually remove them.

@@julianaylor4351 My dad was also born in 1961, something he told me that actually seemed crazy at first until I looked it up was essentially the ONLY Labour leader that has won General elections since he has been able to vote from 1979 onwards has been Tony Blair. All others have been won by Thatcher, Major, Cameron (Coalition and Majority), May (even with a minority she still had the government) and Bojo.

Winter of 93/94 - we had just flipped our Leopard 1 tank over on its roof in the 3 meter deep snow, almost crushing me standing in the commanders hatch trying to navigate in a whiteout to find the shooting range. Tank was loaded with ammo. We evacuated to the no. 4 tank in the platoon to avoid freezing to death as this was well north of the arctic circle. Was sitting on the floor in the loaders section of the turret with my crew, fully aware of the shitstorm about to come from higher up. It had already startet on the command net. My buddy the commander of no 4 tank put on the radio. And this song was what the radio blared out. Happy days - life sure had its ups and downs since but this song is still able to put a grin on my face :-)

I’m still continuing working hard in getting my body rejuvenated and walking again with a lot of physio and exercise at home. While I was in Rehab, I’ve been listening to 90s music which was my era (I was born in ‘97) and ‘Things Can Only Get Better’ has been helping me get through it all and has become my New Anthem. Music from the 90s is so full of positivity, inspiration, happiness and real talent of course 💚 I’ve returned home and once my body’s has fully rejuvenated 100% in terms of getting my all strength, energy and coordination back. I’m having a big Welcome Home Party and ‘Things Can Only Get Better’ is on my playlist along with various other 90s music and some 2000s.

I was born in '93 and never really listened to this song. However my gratitude goes to Steve Bray for burning this into my mind as the soundtrack for the beginning of the end for this dreadful government. For the last year or so I've been asking "what haven't the conservatives made worse or even utterly destroyed". This song is essentially my question. Everything is f**ked. Things can't get worse, they can only get better. For the first time in years, I have a small amount of hope. This song feels like an outpouring of that hope.
