Robert Velez Does anyone know what happened to the episode where they are wearing old fashioned swimsuits on the beach, singing laffy taffy...words that rhyme!
@MrJamieMurph41419695 жыл бұрын
Daffy taffy, you mean. Anyway, you're not alone in being after that one, I vaguely remember that one too, from Season 1. Lee Chamberlain sang the words as "Screen Stanley" displayed them on screen. A remake of it was then made in season 5, where Hattie Winston led the Short Circus kids in singing(by then the crew was Julie, Samantha, who had replaced Kathy, Jesse who took Buddy's place, Gail who was Kelly's replacement, and finally, Charlie who took Dwayne's place in the show's final two seasons. Dwayne had replaced Zachary and Kelly had replaced Allison (Denise Nickerson of Willy Wonka fame, all going backwards in time as you can see here)who in turn had replaced Iris(Irene Cara) only in the second season. Kelly had taken Allison's place in the third and fourth seasons and again, was then supplanted by Gail for the last two seasons. Julie was the only SC member to remain with the show during its six season production.

The remake of Daffy Taffy, aka the rhyming song by the Short Circus, is on the box set, it was featured in the episode which aired(originally) on January 6, 1976, from season 5.

Episode 57A(I believe) is the aforementioned episode which was broadcast originally on January 6, 1976.

MrJamieMurph Hi.Im a superfan of The Electric Company.I can tell you I loved the 1970s version better than the one in 2009.My question is can you try to find the episode,I believe it was 15 A the one where it was the letter h,the ow sound,the letter s and the word danger?That was when Hattie Winston had the 4 nightmares during the Help!Help!Help! song sketch and the music was ominous albeit uptempo.Ill appreciate your efforts.Have a good day.

How come this never resurfaced on Sesame Street after PBS pulled the plug on TEC in 1985?

Yes, I do remember this one, from (1970s) Electric Company. This is still another one, you will find on the DVD box set(Best of EC, Volume 1)-it was featured in the episode that (first)aired on New Year's Day, 1973(Season 2). This is definitely from Season 1(Irene Cara is the dead giveaway, plus, Melanie Henderon, SC member Kathy, did wear glasses and wore her hair down, in Season 1),but it was featured in the aforementioned Season 2 episode(Episode #181). Rita and the three Short Circus girls(Season 1 crew)worked GREAT together, doing these vaudeville-like numbers-this, plus "Broadway Bob," and "The "un"song,"to name a couple more. You can also find the aforementioned other two vaudevilles, on the box sets. --1:23-- is GREAT-"Hats off to the letter d!" as the camera cuts to the letter, atop the post.

This is very similar to "Thanks to th," which was sung by Morgan Freeman and the (now)late Lee Chamberlain-at the end of that one also, the camera cuts to the "th"atop the post, at the end.

The original head writer before Tom Whedon (and the show's creator) was Paul Dooley, who also voiced Sarge in Pixar's Cars franchise.
