Man, D-Styles is like watching a jazz musician solo over trap. That “warm up” was ALL jazz! And it’s one thing to learn the scratch itself. It’s a whole other thing to learn where to apply those rhythms and cadences of the scratch to the beat. Hail D-Styles 🙇🏻♂️ the Miles Davis of this shit! (Q too)

This is what I'm struggling with at mo. Can do lots of diffrent scratch technics but putting them together is where I'm sounding shit. Getting a good flow going is hard
@mtownz62153 жыл бұрын
@@barrywatts8501 When trying to learn flow it's best not to throw too many technical scratch technics during your practice session. Flow is probably 80% hand on record than how you cut it on the fader. I would just practice long form on sessions with the basics like transforms, one click flare. Focusing on hand tears, slow up and slow down on the record. Hand on record movements basically. Then you can sprinkle your technical scratches here and there.

I love the way when one learns the diffrent scratch technics they all bleed into each other. One door opens to 2 doors then 3 and so on. I just try to absorb as much as possible from watching D . D-styles just has that thing that is so unique.

Been doing chirp flare combo. Just starting to make it sound ok. Not as clean as you D. Trying to combine two click flares as well. My chirps have got much better. Trying to put tears in there as well in practice sessions. Almost two months in practicing every day for an hour plus. Loving this wish I put the effect in years ago! Going to watch all your sessions dude. Cheers D.

Anyone got thoughts on sitting down to scratch like on a stool I want to learn to cut with right hand on record I currently cut with on the left but their are massive advantages of the right side but was wondering does anyone find sitting down makes the learning process easier for example you ever try eating stood up or using a computer stood or playing video games stood, or writing stood up , none of these feels right stood up you can focus much better sat down was wondering of anyone found sitting better. Playing guitar too sure people stand up on stage when live or at practice but at home when they are just jamming and being creative they all sit down.
@ChesterPerry187 Жыл бұрын
All the top DJs practice sitting down. Wack cutters like me too. Standing for ages is a strain on the old knees.
