D!tto | Fanime (Fullmetal Alchemist Remix)

Hey guys! Here is a repost of an old video I did for D!tto's "Fanime" back in early 2010, a track that samples from the English dub of the film "Fullmetal Alchemist: The Conqueror of Shamballa."
I noticed that D!tto recently deleted his KZbin channel (for reasons I don't know why, sorry) so I'm reposting the video I did for him. I would have taken the opportunity to revamp the video, but I no longer have the project files, or even the DVD to work with. It's fine as it is though.

For those who just discovered Pogo or Ditto......this style was really REALLY popular many years ago. It was a sort of movement, with Pogo on the forefront. He helped others like Ditto who were also experimenting with the genre. There were many others who started producing their own works and they became friends. It was a fantastic time and I'm glad I got to experience its birth.

I really miss this style; the music is great, but the mixture with popular (and sometimes niche) media added a whole layer of nostalgia to it. I really wonder what d!tto is up to nowadays

It’s so weird people really aren’t talking about the fact that this is a remix of Conqueror of Shamballa. Especially since even at the time this was originally uploaded, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood had pretty much overshadowed the original 2003 series this movie serves as a frankly underwhelming and unfulfilled conclusion to it. Not entirely the crew’s fault who all worked on it, as Brotherhood was already getting conceived back in 2005-2006 and the hire-ups basically rushed it out the door. Apparently, the team had enough material to make another season or at least four movies…and they had to condense it all down into one movie…truly a shame we’ll never get to see that full vision they were going for. As someone who got back into anime back in 2016-2017 thanks to Fullmetal Alchemist…it holds a special place in my heart even after all of the other anime like Evangelion and Serial Experiments Lain have boggled my mind and made me realize how much I love psychological anime. Despite this remix being made *years* before I ever really knew about Fullmetal Alchemist and I was busy watching Pokémon, Beyblade, Inuyasha, and…Black Butler (yeah, that’s what having unmonitored access to early Netflix did to someone like me) as a kid back in 2012-2013.) This remix has this energy to it that makes me nostalgic for when I first found out about Fullmetal Alchemist and got back into into anime all those years later in 2016-2017 (again, don’t exactly recall when), and I adore it. Truly a gem well-persevered in time. Oh, and while I knew who Pogo was and their style of music, I was always more of a Liltommyj kind of guy, since they were what introduced me to both Persona (and later MegaTen as a whole once I started doing research) and Alan Wake along with other games. Long rant, I know, but with a remix like this and almost next to no recent attention on this, I thought I’d share my 3:00 a.m. (as of typing this) nostalgia reminiscent thoughts.

I watched this amv as a teem and a decade later this has greatly shaped my own video editing style. Also unpopular opinion haha I love Conqueror of Shambala and thought it was a perfect ending, great soundtrack too!
