Station F is clearly a great idea and very successful, but I have to disagree with Euglena CEO's view that Japan can achieve the same thing in the next 5 years. The reason is the remarkable lack of diversity in Japan. At Station F, you have people from around the world, and even the 'locals' are already a diverse bunch. In Japan, 98% of the people are Japanese, educated to conform to all the reasonable and many unreasonable rules and regulations, impossible bureaucracy, plus very conservative and risk-averse attitudes. I really do hope something changes in the next 5 years, but I don't have much to base my hope on. Only, some change is better than none at all.
