D-12 wasn’t the band Eminem started with. This song is joking boy bands and the assumption that Em broke away from his crew. D-12 was Proof’s group. Eminem was doing his music career solo and they were all friends. Then Eminem blew up and one of the D-12 members was killed, Bugz. The group had a lot of obligations they needed to fulfill and couldn’t because they were down a member. Em asked if he could step in Bugz spot to help them meet the obligations. He was already famous. As soon as he had money, he started Shady records and signed D-12 to a contract. When he joined D-12, they were already on the Shady label. He went to LA to meet Dre, took Royce with him and meanwhile Proof creates D-12. Royce was Em’s hype man but left for a solo record deal during the middle of touring SSLP on the Up In Smoke tour. Em reconnected with Proof, asked him to be his hype man, reconnected with D-12 etc. this song isn’t the truth at all.
