Can you imagine wrestling that team in high school? Two future NCAA champions on one team blows my mind

They have a wrestling dynasty. I wrestled against them in high school (albeit 10 years after Metcalf went there) and they were still the top team in the state of MI.

Jon reader was also on that high school team, the team was ranked nationally at one point

A true clash of styles- fun to watch this back to back with Burroughs' matches with Andrew Howe to see how he adjusted to this style.

Here after watching Marsteller beat Burroughs. He used Metcalf’s style. I still believe Metcalf and Schlatter are 2 of the best wrestlers I’ve ever seen. Watched them in 2005 and still some of the best ever.

Wow, Metcalf handled Burroughs!

Little would they guess that Burroughs would go on to become one of the all time great wrestlers in history and Brent little more than a footnote.

:( ik. I’m so sad wish Brent metcalf was better :(((((( but Brent metcalf was good

Brent is still one of most legendary high school and college wrestlers. Yes his international results were disappointing overall.

Why wasn't he as successful as Burroughs??? I find that interesting because when I watch his past matches he looks more physically imposing back than he does now. Maybe he peaked much earlier than Burroughs and other guys who had far more successful careers.

underwhelming match considering the skill of both

Burroughs on his knees, moving backwards, being pushed off the mat.
