D2 handbrake conversion for a defender

It wasn’t a kit as such, I just got the hand brake from a scrap yard and made the other bits needed. It’s not a difficult job.

Thought this was a great idea so went ahead on my 99 TD5 only to find the cable will not fit even with the adjustment nut all the way back. Any suggestions please!!!

If it’s not much slacken off the adjuster on the drum, fit then re tighten to suit.

As it says in the title, it’s a D2 handbrake. The original is way too big to move.

I would have welded some nuts on the back of that plate if I were you for easier install.

Wouldn't have made it much easier as you still need to put your hand under to hold up the plate so six and two threes really. I used stainless bolts and nyloc nuts so it should stay put.
