Dude.. LOVE this. I have a PILE of garden tools leaning against the wall of my shed currently. I also have 20ft of 2 1/2in. PVC left over from when I installed a new furnace this year. I see this design calling my name! The only thing I think I will change is I will attach a 1x4 rail across the studs so I can hang things between the studs as well this taking up less horizontal space. Thanks for sharing!

Great idea Tyler. Even I could do that with all our garden tools. Love your day to day series too. Your children are so cute and I love your son saying "check it out" over and over. Beautiful family for sure. Keep doing the simple stuff for folks like me.

cool idea. I am quite the gardener, and have so many tools on handles hanging in my garage. I have some on angled dowels so I can have multiple on a slot, but I have been searching for a PERMANENT solution. Doubt I will find one as I have Stumpy Nubs' rearrangerits syndrom! But this makes me think. Thanks for the video!

I can see some of those going up in my shop. And make your cuts any way you want. Just be safe and keep the tips coming. And your little helper is awesome.

Thanks Eric!

I love your approach! You can cut the slots in the pvc all at once on a table saw. Before chopping the pipe, rip it lengthwise in two passes using the saw's fence, cutting out one long gap strip. Then chop it into the desired lengths. Much, much quicker!

Nice design. I have all of my garden type tools stored in a large trash can, this looks promising.

looks great Tyler, cheap and quick, got some 2" central vac pipe I could up cycle. If you mounted a 2 X 4 horizontally across the studs you could hang more tools closer together.
@KSFWG8 жыл бұрын
That's a great idea!
@roosterandco8 жыл бұрын
That 2x4 is exactly what I did in my shed. Tons of stuff packed all together and still really accessible and off the floor. I like the miter idea, especially for shovels that have that funny bend between the handle and the spade.
@DIYTyler8 жыл бұрын
For sure, don't really need it yet though! If I do I can easily add the 2x4.
@dondonaldson16847 жыл бұрын
Great idea, you could also use a half round at the bottom to hold the handle so that they can't swing... 😎. I really like the idea for hanging garden tools!!!
@stressmitigation8 жыл бұрын
Hey Tyler; Just a thought. you could always use a scrap strip pf ply, or 1x4 and run it across the studs to make better use of space.
@DIYTyler8 жыл бұрын
Sure could! Thanks for watching.

If you have any extra 2" conduit, you can attach small sections/cylinders near the bottom of the tools which will fit to slide into and secure them slightly better. Even if the kids bumped or tried to get one out the bottom will make it more difficult.

Nice job. I made the same kind of tool holders. Except I didn't miter them. Mine are about 2" tall and they still hold the tools very well.
@DIYTyler8 жыл бұрын
These are definitely longer then necessary but it looked right!
@hoggmann721710 ай бұрын
to increase the storage space you could mount these to a 1x2 and then mount the 1x2 (or 2x4, or whatever is on hand) across the studs. this enables you to space the mounts according to the tool width rather than be limited to the stud width
