You always want your brad nailer perpendicular to the narrow piece you are nailing into. The chisel point on the brads makes them prone to following the grain and blowing out through the face of narrow stock. By orienting the nailer perpendicular to the narrow stock if the brads follow the grain they will do so parallel to the face of the piece rather than coming out through it.

1:15 i have 6 drills for various uses. 1 lives in my car with battery and other tools, 2 for drill driving, another right angle, 1 for my wifee to use if needed (low speed won't hurt her) and the last is for heavy duty hammer/killin' stuff, I also use it for mixing in the kitchen and cleaning.

Great job, and much appreciated on a smaller design; like you said, most hobbyists don't have more than a few drills and drivers. As for the dowelmax, I'll take every chance to sing its praises whenever I see it used in a video. Pricey for a doweling jig, sure. But it has just as much accuracy and joint strength as a domino. The domino is an amazing tool, but a dowelmax is an investment worth every penny as well. It's incredibly well-built too.

Love your content. 1 piece of unsolicited advice from somebody that has/will never do KZbin videos: don’t end your videos so abruptly. I may be the anomaly, but I usually wait until after the video to like it or comment and when yours end super quick the next video starts playing and I have to re-click on your video to do that. Seems like most other KZbinrs have an outro whatever play for a few seconds. Just an idea from someone who has no clue what they’re talking about

Total hobby and side hustle wood worker here and I have 7 drills and 1 impact driver lol (bought black and decker drill first on clearance and an additional drill with battery and charger was cheaper than just another battery so I have 4 of those and did the same with hart tools to end up with 3 drills and an impact driver from that line)

This is super smart I need something like this for my 2 drills brad and pin nailer. Use them on almost every project so why not have them somewhere I can grab and more importantly put away in a second. I’ve been trying to convince myself to buy that dowel max system for a while now. My current wolf craft dowel jig is terrible. Not very accurate or adaptable to different joints.

For cleating(?) bins, no need for alu --- some leftover click-together laminate usually works... When fitting laminate to a room, the last row normally is halved to fit so you have an entire wall's length of these to cut off. That's what my bins hang off... It's the plastic underside that's showing, which is usually coloured into something that goes well with wood (if you have wood pattern laminate).

I have two 48"x48" versions of those in my shop. I do have more than two each of drills and impact drivers, but then I've got 18v and 12v varieties and like to have enough drivers to keep one chucked philips, one Torx 25 and one square bit. I also have other tools slotted in like my impact wrenches, my nailers, etc. I have all my chargers on the shelf above with one shelf having all Milwaukee chargers and the other having Makita, Ryobi, and even a Craftsman (don't ask) charger. The remaining shelves above are for my cordless tools that won't fit in a slot like jigsaw, circ saw, oscillating multitool, hand routers, sanders, etc., along with a bunch of screws.

It looks great! I have 8 cordless driver/drill's. There are a few duplicates but not as many as you might think, because I do more than just wood projects, so my diversity of tools goes way beyond what an average woodworker might have. My ADD is in play so I love all sorts of things. Some of this is left over from my days of owning a handyman service where i got into everything you could imagine. Recently I had to buy a few new tools because some of my older tools could no longer be fixed and it was cheaper just to buy a new drill set. so I have a few things left over in the process. Everyone makes mistakes, the difference is can you use them to your advantage and can you make it look like you never made a mistake at all? Some of my mistakes ended up guiding my build and it actually turned out better than I had planned. so I don't get too upset when things go a bit sideways. Even if it is a complete fail, at the very least I learned something in the process. The biggest mistake is to quit. so enjoy the process.

Very nice, love the transparency with some of the mistakes you made: I've still got my own brad nail holes to patch up :| My only suggestion for other folks is to build your drill holder deep enough so you can keep your most common bits in the drivers rather than needing to take them out every time you want to put your drill away. I noticed you've got the dewalt bit holder. Also pretty sure you're in the great white north... soooooo I've found the DeWalt robertson bits are about as effective as a freeDumb convoy, so keep an eye out for the home depot milwaukee sets to go on sale from time to time, or if you can ever find the magical unicorns which are the bosch double sided robertson #2 bits that were at Canadian tire at some point in their lifetime nab those. the Mastercrap maximum ones are pretty solid too as an option. That said, the dewalt cases are better, so get some red in that yellow!

Regarding the dowel jig: I’m less than 50 years old, and my first car was “a fraction” of what a domino tool costs. ;) This turned out very nice (efficient/attractive) despite the oops-es. Thanks for sharing the oops-es; you likely saved someone else from making those errors. I remember learning the brad nail orientation requirement the hard way. I really like the trick of using slightly over-long screws to mark the drywall behind the project; I’m sure that will come in handy.

I like the smaller design. I only have a few drills and drivers and this would fit the bill nicely. The only problem I have with that system is the open bins. After a while they get full of shop dust as well as bugs and spiders in the ones I don't use often.

Great! Depending on people's needs and number of chargers, it might be nice to make the whole thing portable and hang it on the wall with a French cleat. I'm just thinking about that for those people that have limited numbers of chargers, when you're wanting to be mobile, you might not want your chargers mounted to something fixed.
