Thanks for your view about this. Have not had time yet to sink into new ladder.. But your insight into this has made me change my main character pick. I was going to go orb/hydra start until I got the sunder. Just going to stick with cold now! Thanks GGM.

Having both Orb and Blizzard together could be a thing once I get my hands on Cold Rupture .. still, I'd rather have static field at about 10 base points and it makes it hard to fill all of the synergies as well as 20 points into Cold Mastery for the full effect on immunes. Maybe at insane damage from levels 27 upwards from +skills gear, static field will become redundant outside of the bosses.

Bloor Moor is great, actually. Trick is to leave start in Cold Plains, run back into Bloor Moor, and leave then game once you've killed 5 champions or bosses. They will spawn a limited number, and they will appear based on your presence. It's like the Tristram trick. Blood Moor likes to spawn all the bosses quick, so make game, TP to CP, kill 5 bosses/champions and leave, even if you haven't explored the rest - you wont find more bosses after that.

Literally started farming Lut Gholein Sewers as the vid played in the background and found my first flame sunder charm. Thank you GGM for the luck boost. Okay so I literally dropped a cold sunder charm like 30 sec after I posted the comment.

Finally got my first one. Lightning. -86 though. =/ I have an orb sorc, only char through hell. So I waited 2 days until lost city came, then farmed dark elder. I have confidence doing lost city since I play in hc. And it paid off!!

Offline singleplayer still have to wait at a minimum 4 months on these and TZ so that leaves time to level a few standard character archetypes to 80-85 before that.

Sadly they're kinda pointless, unless you already have -enemy res on gear. You will do almost no damage to monsters. I just got one on my light sorc, big disappointment. :(

they changed them so they should work for minions now. Since you can counter the physical one with %DR say a perfect -10% physical res would be instantly countered by the 10% dr on shako. So you would end up with a net 0 physical damage reduction.

Sunder charms Do not drop in nightmare difficulty only hell difficulty. So if you're trying to get sunder charms it has to be in hell. If you're just trying to get exp then nightmare is fine

Charms hurt your resistances and are too common? What good are they?

The trade-off is for the sundering effect which reduces any monsters resistance to 95% effectively breaking that immunity. The general idea is the charm makes them weak to a damage type and you weak to the same damage type. A double edged sword

It's funny cause I have started playing D2R again recently (last month) and have started running Hell Terror Zones a lot. I have NEVER seen a single sunder charm. Not even ones I might not be looking for (like a Fire charm but I want Ice) no, none, zero as in never in all my runs have I seen a single one. So not sure what I am doing wrong. Are they like level 90+ or something? (I am still 89)

They are not that common, maybe as common as getting a unique item from a champion pack. Since they can only drop from champions and bosses, I'd farm a highly populated zone and focus on champions only.

it's tough that they broke the game on console. Or at least on switch. It's updated twice recently on switch and it went from crashing every hour or two with the first update, and now crashes at the title screen literally every single time. I've been playing Diablo 2 off and on for like 15-16 years, and have never seen it in such a bad state as this. and I was around for duped sojs being the currency, the flood of advertisement bots, and all that crap. Never seen it crash until d2r.

If I knew that I would do it myself. There is a reason Griffons Eye is so rare and sought after. You will have to grind for it like the rest of us. Keep in mind that it cannot drop in low-level zones. The monsters must be level 87 or higher to drop it.

As of right now terror zones are in ladder and non ladder, sunder charms are only available In ladder

@@TechnoGaGaP they only drop from hell terror zones yes. You can't get them from nightmare or normal difficulty terror zones. Like I said they are so common if you make a game call bring free sunders you will probably have more than you can carry

No, the - resistance on the charm is a negative effect to you, not a positive effect. That number has nothing to do with the sunders effect on the monster.

Such a load of crap. "Beat the game on the hardest difficulty and we'll give you the best gear in the game" For what exactly? If I've already conquered baal at hell difficulty, wtf else do I even need to run that character for? Ubers? That's it? A handful of bosses that are trash by the time you get to max level anyways? People need these gear drops to get through the game. Not as a reward for already dominating it.

You don't need sunder charms to get through the game, You can get through normal, nightmare, and even hell without them. I clearly demonstrate this with my Players 8 SSF Runs, pretty much the hardest difficulty you can play and you can still do it without Sunder charms.
