Back in the days of 1.09 this was the top tier item you could find , especially on hardcore. There wasn't anything better than this bad boy. I remember waking up to school and i dreamed that if i just make that one run in the morning i will find, guess what... it dropped on mephisto, i had a dopamine feel that i never had before , it was a blast...

It’s still the best shield on Hc, pair it with a verdungos and a gladiators bane and you are all set

​@@GGMentor Lol. Similar story here. I found a stormshield, was attempting to trade it for SOJs, and was offered a 1.08 Valor. After not getting any other bites, I agreed to the trade and the next time I logged in it was gone.

Good for Conc Barb, especially with String of Ears. Only thing is that you need to find another source of CBF other than Rhyme.

Stormshield is dope. I like it on my javazon. I usually try to put an um rune in it and go for max block. You can just run up on cows and be good .you can even be a little more budget and use a p diamond or a ral rune.

I've been using this instead of spirit on my blizz sorc. since im not using mana shield, and using either wealth or ormus robes, it really keeps you getting 2-3 shotted in cows, and gives you nice survivability with that 35% dr.

I keep running into issues that's why, like first time I tried they had three sockets for some reason, second time I tried they were upgraded so I couldn't do a video on the downgraded version. I'll get it correct next time 😂

@@kevinduffy2688 yes monarch shields 156 str is a lot especially for lighter builds. But it's pretty much the gold standard for strength requirement. Most characters usually find a way to get 156 one way or another

Been looking for a white Monarch for 5 days now; Running the Mausoleum, and the pit. I thought my luck was bad, dropped 2 blue monarchs, and One 3 socket. %0 MF by the way. Today In the Pit Stormshield drops. 1/1.7 million chance of this thing dropping form a Dark Archer. What Is my luck? good, bad, I cant tell.

Do you need dexterity with a high chance to block shield

Basically the amount of dex required depends on the shield. So if the block chance of the shield sucks you need a lot of dex. If the block chance of the shield is. Good you need less dex. High dex isn't always a bad thing as it adds damage for some weapons, attack rating, and a small amount of defense.

You have shields like this & then stupid shit like Medusa’s & Blackoak, etc; that are useless in design. Why can’t all uniques have useful properties & be balanced such as Stormshield.

Lower resistance proc isn't useful? Medusa's gazes only real flaw is the high strength requirement. I ran that shield on my vengeance paladin to achieve -200% all res in combination with conviction

@@GGMentor the high strength requirement makes a somewhat nice shield really a hassle to use. The StormShield is significantly more balanced & useful in comparison to some of the other dumb assery blizzard has engaged in.

I like your videos, but in my opinion you can really feel how you try to drag the video over the 10 minute mark. I think that is also okay if you decide doing so, but if you want to do something for you viewers, I would appreciated if the videos would be shorter (or more items per video).

Lol I don't deliberately drag anything out, I am just long winded. The other thing is a lot of the information I go over is for newer players. So veterans might for instance already know what Physical Damage Reduction is and how it works. But newer players do not. I understand that going over common details can be tedious. It is however important to help the newer players have a firm understanding of how things work.
