It would be interesting if all plus to damage and plus to defense were a % enhancement, as mentioned here.

Key note, if you use the belt & boots from the Hsarus's Set, it makes this build pretty bad ass. Add an Angelic Set ring on there and the best gloves you can find, ran my Fire sorc all the way up to Level 32 and could handle some of Nightmare also. No charms needed.

Cathan's Rule battle staff drops throughout Acts 1&2 caves. They are all easy to get through Diablo 2, even the original game. It is the absolute 1st set in the game. David Brevik was even debating whether All the Gear should be Socketed with Gems & Jewels.

I found the staff and ring with a barbarian. It actually worked pretty good because of the extra mana. I put it as the alt weapon to swap for horking.

Honestly, the nightmare upgrade is pretty darn good if this is all you got, it's a good use of resources. I'm not sure about the hell upgrade though lol

Keep in mind that upgrading armors re-rolls their base defense, which has an especially wide range on masks. Mask base defense ranges from 9 - 27, Death Mask (exceptional) is 54 - 86, and Demonhead (elite) is 101-154. So, best case, you can go from Cathan's mask having 9 defense to 86 on the first upgrade, and 154 on the last. Worst case you may upgrade a high defense Death Mask of 86 to a low defense Demonhead of 101. You started with a PERFECT roll of 27 def on the mask, to a mid roll of 72, and finally a mid roll of 122 base defense as a Demonhead. TL:DR: the wide defense range on masks makes upgrading them riskier and even less worth the cost.

So you are mostly correct except the rolling defense thing it's actually set. So let's say you have a 27 defense death mask and you upgrade it to demonhead. The defense it will go to is based off of the unique item identifier. You can copy the item via hero editor and upgrade it a hundred times on a hundred different characters the defense will always be the same value based on the unique item modifier. In otherwords if you upgrade and item to perfect defense it was always going to be perfect defense when upgraded.

I used to love runing around with sigons on I think I used a hexfire then always the bloodletter for when I was lvling....i can't lie I miss this game I played for a long time on 2 dif stints ...wish I had the time to play again but this is not a game I can play 2days a week

Nintendo switch + work breaks fool Trust me as a working adult also this is the way. Carry the switch with you and play when you can. Lunch at work, waiting at the doctor's office, in the car waiting for some reason, stuck in traffic for multiple hours, on a plain, on a bus, next to your girl/wife while they watch some show you hate, in the family room with your kids while they watch cartoons, ect, ect.

If they want to make these low-level sets somewhat viable later in the game, they're going to have to do something like boost or add magical properties when they are upgraded.

A normal difficulty enchant sorc was my first thought for this set. Wouldnt take it much further than that though.

The full set bonus is pretty huge and only see this untill you complete the 5th piece. I kinda like anyone could wear this set for any reason. I always keep the rings for 6% Lifesteal for any build. I would only upgrade once with only having full set. Upgrading and splitting it up might not be worth it.

They need to add or change set bonuses for when you equip all upgraded pieces of the same tier...nobody playing through will find these runes at a level that will be appropriate to upgrade these items lol.

FYI wearing 2 rings gives you +10 strength per ring so long as you're wearing another piece of the set.

Green bonuses stack since they're given per item, gold bonuses are per set so they do not stack.
